Not for sure if some of you remember our last episode, but my oldest daughter, Jenna, has contracted ANOTHER case of spinal mendigitis. We brought her to Childrens today around 3pm and looks as if we will be here for the week. I'll get on when I can to provide updates.

I really hate to hear that. I wished I had of remembered to ask about your daughter the way you did about my son. That was a class act. She will be on my prayer list.

Sorry to hear about your daughter. We will pray for her. I know Children's Hospital will take the very best care of her. My grandaughter has been there several times over her young 3 years. Last for a broken arm. Sending our prayers and huggs for your little girl.

Thanks guys. I really do appreciate it. We thought were were out of the woods last time, but looks like we were wrong. Last night was pretty tough. She had a siezure that really took us by surpise. I have never been as scared in all my life. They got her stablized and actually had a spinal tap after our CT scan. Sure enough, bacterial mendingitis. Luckily it isn't the contagious strand so we are now out of isolation. We are having an MRI tomorrow AM and they are going to try to determine how this keeps happening. This will hopefully open the door so we can determine our next course of action. May just be the beginning of it all. Thanks for everyone's kind words. Really appreciate everyone's prayers and thoughts. It is very comforting....
However, on a positive side, we have been extremely lucky that for every problem we have faced, it has been fix-able. Hopefully she will be as good as new within a month. Thanks again you guys, you are the greatest.

We spent many a restless night in hospitals with our youngest son. My wife and I wish you and your family the best. Keep us posted on her condition. We will be praying for her.
Update.. Not a whole lot has changed guys. She is doing better and the antibiotics are really kicking butt. In addition to the bacteria in her spinal fluid, she also has it in her blood. They have her on 2 different antibiotics and are having great success killing it off in both places. Currently, mom and mom-in-law are with her having an MRI and hopefully they can determine where the bacteria is entering her spinal fluid. Several possibilities on why this is happening, but they want to be certain and will run all the tests needed to figure it out. Once again, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
However, we have been released from intensive care and have been moved to the floor. (room 4728) Not for sure how long we will be here. The last round, we were outta here in 1 week, but don't know this time. Just depends on what all they find.
That's encouraging news Bobberwatcher. We will continue to pray for her.
Spoke to the Dr. this morning and they have found the source for the re-occuring infections. Looks like we will have another procedure in the very near future and they are currently talking among themselves to determine the best course of action. Thanks to all.

Thanks again you guys. Still not much of an update as of today. We did however find that the bug is completely gone from her blood, so we can move forward with the "pick" line hopefully tomorrow. When they put her to sleep for the pick line, they are going to do another lumbar puncture (spinal tap) just to check to see if the mendigitis is gone as well. We will still continue to administer antibiotics until the next surgery. That surgery should take place within the next couple of weeks I'm sure.
