you can get minnows at Oakland exit . which is next exit past enid if coming from north. when you get off I55 be store on left. they give you plenty for the money. there is another place when you get off at enid exit aand get to dam go left and store be on left just down road.
If you are going to the south side of the lake Longbranch Bait shop will be open at 6. Its on hwy 32 just before you get ot Longbranch boat ramp.
Like Rees said, if going on south side of lake stop by the Longbranch store. They give you a good count on minnows, have some good food, and the have been supporting us at crappie.com since they opened. If Tim happens to be there he will guide you in the right direction to where your most likely to catch fish also.
How far is that once you cross the dam, coming from the north side?
if you are going to longbranch stay on I55 till next exit (Oakland/Charleston)get off and go east 3-4 miles.
Thanks for the info gentlemen
Is longbranch open all week or only on the weekends?

Long branch would be my first choice. If you're going down the north side of the lake and coming from the north like Batesville or above, you can get good bait in Pope.
We will be coming from Batesville. Where in Pope?
It's about 5 miles south of Batesville off 55. Get off 55 at the Pope exit and go right. When the road T's at 51 (about 3/4-1 mile) go left. It's in a gas station on the right just across from where you go up the north side of the lake about 3 miles south on 51 from your left turn. I think it's a Citgo station. Can't miss it.
Thanks
The Batesville exit is 243. The Pope/Courtland exit is 237. Enid exit is 233. Oakland/Water Valley exit is 227.
Here's a map, maybe that will help.

Wallace creek store is still open?
That is where I usually get mine.....You can also continue south of 51 (after you leave that store) and cross over 55 at the Dam Exit and not have to backtrack....If that makes sense.....[QUOTE=BigRiverMarine;3300176]It's about 5 miles south of Batesville off 55. Rest area just south of Hernando, exit 280. If at the right time of day it's welcome center. Pick up a state map. Ask or look for all the lake maps, Butla, Sardis, Enid and Nader.
Wallace creek store? When did they change the name? Was County Line store as far back as I can remember. Wet county on that side of the road, dry county on the lake side of the road.
