My weekend at fall camp

Drove down Friday morning, put in at Bucksaw and fish upwards to Hays Creek. It was tough fishing with the cold front just coming through, raising water and the lake turning over up at that end. Did catch about a 20 lb carp to keep me ahead of Paul in the non target fish category. Took back out to set up camp and drank a cold one with CrappieHead and Tink. Got a hold of Longpoler and met him at Mallards for a sandwich and some cold ones. Went back to camp and Day Dreamer showed up with his camper. Slept in a little late and fished Bucksaw down to point 16. Had best luck at Point 16. Caught crappie, bass and catfish on minnows. Gave the two catfish to a guy fishing with his two kids. Saturday evening was the Green Wing Memorial fish fry for his dad, had a hot fish dinner with all the extras, plus deserts. Had a fun time talking to all the CDC members. Went back to camp and after a lot of cold beers with Day Dreamer and Tink we decided to fish right above the dam in the morning. It was our first time for the three of us to fish that area so moved around till we found a spot that looked good. The white bass where chasing shad all around us. We had a blast catching and missing bites, both Tink and Day Dreamer both caught a crappie each. I was skunked on crappie. Tink took home 11 white bass and we threw back a lot of the smaller ones. Was definitely a good weekend as far as the weather goes. Sounds like all had a good time.

Yeah had a great time meeting everyone and putting faces with the names can't say enough about this site where else can you meet up with good folks that will tell where they are fishing and what is working thanks everyone for a great weekend

Just wanted to say Thanks to all the CDC members that came to the fish fry! Hope everyone had a great time.

It was a great weekend for fishing. Had fun with everyone at the dinner. Camping is always fun but put a bunch of people together makes it better.

Just got down for a couple of hours but well worth the drive. Nice to see everyone

Couldn't be there. Sure wanted to be though.
Friday and Saturday we made 221 pints (30 gallon kettle) of excellent apple butter. Recuperated Sunday. Going to enter it in the State Fair.
Next spring, me and the new boat. We're gonna be there.

Looks like a good time was had. I had planned on coming but hurt my leg and could not make it. :(

Had a great time. Thank you for coming over to my camp checking on this old broken down old man. My feet were acting up and the other members checked on me every time they could.
