Picked boat up after being serviced and wanted to check it out. Headed to Laurel Hill Lake hoping to find the big Gills. Didn't find the big boys but did have a nice relaxing day catching fish. Got into some 8 inch Gills and shellcrakcers....and surprised to find a spot that had crappie stacked up on it. These things were in 2 feet of water. Thought that odd as water temps were in mid 80's and the spot had no cover at all. The crappie were all in the 10-11 inch range. Even caught a few green sunfish. Just an enjoyable day on a 360 acre lake with only me and 3 Amish fishing out of kayaks. They were jug fishing for cats....and they loaded their coolers. I left same time they did and thought it was funny seeing a horse drawn buggy with kayaks loaded on them and headed down the highway. I didn't take any pics but I caught around 7 catfish myself on the Trout Magnet. They love the Trout Magnet but I don't even want them in my boat...LOL. Used an UL rod and twitched a Bison colored Trout Magnet for the day. Rod was strung with 2# test SOS line. All in all a nice day. Life is good!
