All of the above all of the time. I let the fish choose what they want. If ya don't try it, you never know. I start out with several setups on different poles. If they bite at all, you'll see what they prefer. On a tough bite, I try more options. I've been trying lots of options at Butla lately. It's tough there right now, but some days a slight change makes a big difference.
IMO, most anglers never change much. They just say they didn't bite. They get lazy to changing colors, styles, or setups. It's either their way or no way. I do it too on occasion. Easy to get complacent.
What BRM said. I try to throw the kitchen sink at em till they tell me what they want. Anything and everything goes less Wannabe calls me and tells me just plain minners, then I usually tip a jig with a minner, catch my ONE fish limit (per WB) and go home.
Yes.

Had a guy tie these up for me, he tied em up with 214el hooks that bend out of stumps/brush easily. It's rubber skirting and some flash material.

Guys read my original post...tell me how you would start out
They told you how they start. They do not use all of the same on all poles. They put a mixture on, a couple with straight minnows and some with teasers and some with jigs and jigs with minnows. When you start getting bites then change most to what they prefer. Nobody can tell you how they start every time. To many variables to consider like water color. Winds current, trash on water. Sometimes you may start out to tight line and get to the lake and find out the wind is blowing a lot harder than was called for. Then it is probably best to pull jigs. I always carry both set of rods when I go that way I am not stuck with one technique. I hope that answers your question. There is nothing set in stone when it comes to crappie fishing. You have got to be versitable.
Knight, go to Walmart and get some of the Mustad KVD kwik snaps, I put them on all my rigs, they make changing hooks or lures a breeze, as quick as a snap swivel but 1/10th the size. I start out with a big variety of colors and bare hooks, say the pink minnow teasers start catching fish I can easily change them all to that without ever having to cut or tie a line

I got in touch with the guy at Lights Out and he will do custom colors too. About to place my order. Thanks for the information on them.
No problem, I love all my jigs and teasers I've ordered. He's an all around great guy to give your business to as well
