I use Sea foam I been using it for 10 to 12 years, You know I use My boat a lot, I have had my boat 10 years no work on carburetor I thank peoples boat that sit up 3 to 6 months may can help, I put it in lawn mowers, weed eat, and chain saw, I like sea foam.
o-ya I use cheap gas
I never used Sea Foam because it comes in a can and cannot be measured out (alot of times I'm only buying a few gallons of gas at a time). On the other hand Stabil can be measured out and I run it in EVERYTHING except my car or truck.
Sta-bil is a stabilizer .... Sea Foam is a cleaning agent that has a stabilizer in it. So, the question is not which is better, but which is better at doing WHAT ?? !!! If it's stabilizing your fuel for long periods of non-use ... both are good. If it's cleaning (de-carbonizing) your engine AND stabilizing your fuel ... Sea Foam. :twocentsQuote:

Marine Sta-bil is what I use every fill up. Sea-foam once a year, a whole can into a fresh tank of gas and run it like you stole it. Never had a issue with either my 25hp Merc 2-stroke in the 13 years I ownedit
or with my 60hp Merc 4-stroke in 3 years. But then my boat rarely sits still more than a month at any time of the year.
My small engine repair Instructor said Sea Foam

One is a stabilizer and one is a cleaner that has stabilizing qualities. The thing I like about seafoam is it is dual purpose and the product as far as I have been able to ascertain is 100 percent safe for the engine...the biggest attribute is helping to keep the plugs,piston head and rings carbon free. It will help to clean the fuel system too..but that to me is a secondary quality. I do not use it every tank. Just occasionally.
I have a work supplied Chevy truck with the 6.0 Vortec. It was a used truck from a rock quarry and those boys rode her hard and put her away wet.When I got it the truck oil pressure was low and the thing had severe lifter clatter on start up. I had always read you could replace a portion of your oil with seafoam and run your engine with it to clean it.Figuring if I did not do something pretty drastic the engine was going to require work soon anyway...I tried the seafoam in the oil cleanup technique.Then replaced the oil. It improved the time to full oil pressure on start up and eliminated 95 percent of the lifter clatter.
This and some other things I have done with it like spraying directly into the carb while running , have convinced me the product is safe to the internal parts of an engine.And using it as a parts cleaner on parts with carbon buildup and watching it dissolve the carbon...I think it helps and will do no harm
