Wateree Catfishing Summer '16 Pics
Fished a good bit this summer with my dad. I got my rig system worked out to where I don't want to change anything. Considering selling the rigs in the future.
Starting at 7-8 PM and staying until 11-2. All from a pier on the main lake above the State Park. Here are some of the highlights. All are still swimming around for you to catch. Most weights escape my memory...but took pictures of most 15+ lbers. Biggest broke 50. Also a big thanks for you guys that told me about the Cummings collapsable net. Works great. A 50 still fills it up pretty good though. :yikes

And my personal favorite.

They had a huge preference for gizzard shad. 2" fillets strips of perch got plenty of jumbo fish after a mayfly hatch (they aren't hungry...gotta downsize!). Small gizzards, big threadfins, small bream, and perch were the live baits. Cut gizzards and perch fillets were the cut baits on the bottom.
Either floated live baits 4-6' deep or cut bait on the bottom...10-12 foot rods to reach the holes (and to man handle them away from the brush). Lost 1 fish all year. The previous fish had wrapped her fins up in the line and I didn't think to check it and the next one popped the 50 lb mono like butter when I lifted her head to lip her (net was on the bottom of the lake...). Was easily a 50 lb class fish.
Hope you guys enjoyed.
