The doctor just came back to the ER room and they found a mass in my wife's throat in the larynx area. They are transferring her to another hospital shortly for an immediate biopsy and then to see specialists for surgery asap. Please continue with the prayers. Thank you all in advance for any support. She is an amazing woman and does not deserve this.

Thank you all. Here is an update. The doctor just came in and said my wife is being air lifted via helicopter to the University of Michigan medical center this evening. Won't know much more until I get down there. It's a couple hours drive for me. Will post as soon as I know anything.

Quick update. My wife was airlifted to University of Michigan Medical Center. It was a 3 hour drive for me and I just arrived. She just got out of her first surgery which took an hour and was just to open up her airway. Her airway was closed to just the size of a drinking straw. They have taken some pieces of the mass to start trying to figure out what it really is. At this point they don't know what it is or what may have caused it. Thank you all for the support.

Thank you so much to all my Crappie.com family. My wife is finally sleeping. In fact she slept for a good solid hour and a half. She is feeling much better now that she can breathe with the tracheostomy tube. Still not out of the water, but the immediate life threatening situation is over. Now just wait and see what they are going to be able to do next. I hope you all don't mind if I share this little verse I wrote in the early hours this morning as I sat by her side here in the hospital. I call it "We're Not Done"

He doesn't give us any more than we can handle. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes it takes awhile for us to truely know what that reason is. Sometimes we may never know. For each person who's lives she has touched, or is touching as we speak, that reason can be different.
We are within an hour of U of M. She is well taken care of there. Let us know if you need anything. My house is open if you need a hot shower, a warm meal, and comfortable bed!
