Fishing has crossed my mind a lot in the last three weeks, but I just haven't had the will after stepping outside and feeling the ridiculous heat/humidity in my area. Working 6-days a week hasn't helped either.
I'm ready for fall and even ready for my first winter fishing. Staying warm is so much easier than keeping cool.

I'm ready too. Stayed out a little too long Friday and got sun sick. Not real bad but bad enough to keep me home, inside, for a couple days. Headache and a little dehydrated. Drank lots of water and feel better this morning. Really love fall fishing out of all the seasons.
I've had a couple of good trips to relieve the stress but I too have had enough of this heat.
I am so ready that I could just burst wide open at the thought of fishing a spot like that. I would be the one under the shade trees, sipping lemonade and catching dinner. Call me when you are ready to go. LOL
I too am ready for a cool down. Cant wait till November.
Around 99 every day here in the deep south and simply way too hot to try to go fishing. After 9am it's really miserable. Come on fall...

Can't get out of the house. The front of my WHITE house is BLACK from all of the "blind mosquitoes" or MIDGES.
This is the worst year for these since coming to Florida (2007). Live on the edge of Lake Harris
No cure for them, as they breed in the lakes.
Blind mosquitoes are extremely difficult and costly to control because the larvae live on the river, lake or pond bottom. The entire volume of water must be treated to provide effective control. Usually, the larval control is not feasible except for a small lake and pond. In small lakes and ponds, Bacillus thuringienis israelensis or Altosid which is used for mosquito larval control may be used for blind mosquito control, but the application rate should be 8-10 times more than the rate for mosquito control.
All of these control methods are temporary and do not get to the root of the problem. Aquatic midges breed in lakes and rivers in large numbers mainly due to the eutrophication of the water. Effluent from food-processing plants, septic tanks, sewage treatment plants, and leaching of fertilizers from lawns and agriculture around lakes supply nutrients that contribute to the production of food for aquatic midges. As nutrients increase, the available food increases and aquatic midge populations increase.

Many moons ago, I lived in Lake Mary. Going to and from work was a hazard from these suckers. Bugs covered the windows and sometimes clogged the radiator and my car would overheat. Real bad when they fly up your nose or into your mouth and cause you to choke.Quote:
