Buddy of mine has a place on Eufaula and is basically a minnow fishermen but wants to expand his horizons. I started dabbling in making baits was wondering what are some good colors for there. I'm from ks so figured it's different for there. Thanks

I haven't been to a lake in Oklahoma that the crappie didn't like:
black/chartreuse
blue/chartreuse
purple/chartreuse
gold pearl flake/chartreuse
pumpkin seed/chartreuse
fire cracker/chartreuse
grey pearl/chartreuse
fluorescent green chartreuse/chartreuse
holographic flake/fluorescent green chartreuse
blue/pearl
black/pink
These colors are what's in my box and all catch crappie well. And at anytime I might swap the chartreuse with a fluorescent green chartreuse. My chartreuse and fluorescent green chartreuse are a solid color not translucent. I add a smidge of UV to all colors.
If you had to pick 3 colors what would they be. I would take black / chart, purple / chart and blue chart. These work on every lake I have fished in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Purple / Chart is becoming my favorite.
The 1st 3 I listed I see! I'd have to pick purple/chartreuse, firecracker/chartreuse and blue/chartreuse. Purple/chartreuse is my go to color this year along with the firecracker. Gold/chartreuse was my last year go to and still gets used alot. I've also done really well this year with the new blue combo and grey combo I came up with. Below are some pics of the colors I speak of.

Frank those will catch crappie. They look really good. What size are those.
Yes sir. Both styles and colors have caught many crappie. The Purple/silver flake Chartreuse glow legs bait style is Twiddler 2.5" ; Color Mrs Haug Boss. The Blue White Flake/Chartreuse Glow tail bait style is Large Stinger; Color Blue Devil 3 2.4". The details on each bait style is on my website. You can click on the website address on my signature line. Oh and all my baits are packaged in Malcolm's Slab Slobber.
Thanks guys for all the colors and info. I don't have all them yet but I'm sure I will be soon. Still trying to figure out the right recipe for some of the colors. Right now I only have 4 molds. Just wanted a idea on good colors thought I'd make him some and give to him.....shortdraw
I have a lot of my recipes over at the plastic forum. If you like, list some of the colors you are trying to attempt and I'll see what I can do for ya. ;)
Frank it would be nice to see you expand into those colors in 3 inch baits. It is hard to find those colors in 3 inch. In late spring, summer and fall seems like the bigger baits do better on the larger crappie for me anyway. I rarely use 2 inch anymore. Sometimes I may not catch numbers but the quality goes up.
The problem is 3" molds are few and far between. I have screamed from the top of my lungs anywhere and everywhere for more of a 3" mold selection but nothing. I give.
I was afraid of that. I have some Bobby Garland 3 in slab slayers that are deadly but color choices are limited. Very few out there in blue / chart and non-existent in purple metal flake / chart
Jacobs has a 3" Slab Slayer mold. He probably has the greatest selection of 3" baits but none I'd really use. Do-It has the 3" Mo Magic and then you have Bait Junkies who has the 2.85" or so Arkansas Flash. I'd really like to see a 3" stinger with a wide body and tail.
