Back To Henderson......6/23/16....

First of all....it's really getting hot out there.....don't know how much longer I can do this....had to break out my Sportsbrella around 9:30.....really makes a difference to be in a little shade.....maybe it will be cooler next Tuesday.....water is dropping 6" a day.....again, very nice to see you on the water again Mermentau.......hope to hook up again soon.....

Caught lots of fish and kept 8 sacs and 7 bass.....shiners of course.....gar starting to show up.....had 2 sacs at 12".......quit at 12 noon....

Seems like I say that after every trip these days. After a few days I forget the fatigue and give it another go.

I don't feel like I try Henderson often enough to know what I'm doing out there.

Don't sell yourself short.....you are pretty good at it....if it was not for smart shiners, I would never catch anything.....:biggrin

If you don't have a umbrella in the sun, you almost cannot stand it. Very hot

Saw quiet a few umbrellas out there Thursday and sometimes 2 to the boat. With my limited boat size I would have to go something like this:

got mine from Sams.....$35....called a "Sportsbrella".....made the stand from PVC pipe & fittings......

Yea. I made my stands same way, just hard to find a good umbrella, old one rotted. I'll have to check it out. Thanks

Last year I walked into Academy and there in the main isle was a large box full of umbrellas for 15 Dollars. I bought one not even knowing what I was going to do with it. I then made a holder for it out of PVC to mount on Linda's seat so now she's fishes in the shade.

Nice catch. I love my sportsbrella. This is my 2rd year using it. Old Yankee the sportsbrella has grommets and a tie down kit for it. I never use them. My holders have a threaded screw to keep the umbrella from flying out of the base.

I can not remember that being a problem....course, lots of times I am anchored.....and the waters I fish are not huge lakes where wind can kick up pretty good....

I haven't noticed it being a problem. I have plenty trolling motor to handle it. I bought this base from bass pro 20 years ago
