Aww, the Thursday thing knocks me out. Sounds fun though.
Thursday's?!?! Ppl work for a living, unfortunately I am out as well.
What are the tournament hours ?? 5AM - ?? 5PM - ??
And if you're going to start the tourneys in Sept. ... are you aware that it doesn't even get light until around 7AM in Sept. :biggrin
Is this going to be for Crappie.com members "only", or will it be open enrollment to the public ?? And if it's open to the public, will there be any affiliation with Crappie.com or promotional pitch to join the site ??
Crappy pappy, you'll have to ask Todd about affiliation with Crappie.com because I'm still learning about the whole deal myself.
What was the reasoning behind the Thursday dates?
Lake traffic unfortunately with the hoards and hoards of large bass tournaments and now with the increased number of wake board boats and large boats to big for our lake Thursday was really the only time not being bombarded with large numbers of tourney guys and also not fighting the huge and crazy numbers of pleasure boaters
Also to answer Crappiepappy question SNA KRAPPIE masters at this time is not affiliated with any one organization it's a local grass roots crappie club who will be holding approx 12 tourneys a year on Taylorsville lake we welcome anyone to come fish the tourneys but do require a $10 a year membership to fish them that will be used to help provide better equipment for tourneys and go toward the Klassic cook out following the classic tourney in May . We'd love to have support from crappie.com but at this time have not been contacted as to this
Just throwing this out there, but I'd imagine there will be minimal boat traffic between the months of sept through around the middle of March, even on the weekend. Especially since tournament hrs are set to be early and late in the day. Although we did see our first wakeboarder in February this year. 42 degree water temp [emoji51]
The idea of tourneys there sounds great. I was very interested in to coming and even bringing some teams with me. But some of ur rules are a little messed up. No trolling? That's kinda crap don't u think? It's like the rules are set up to a specific person or persons style of fishing. And from my experience on that lake, it's a troll lake almost year round..... Regardless best of luck. I think between the no troll and Thursday that ur turnouts will be minimal. But good luck
No trolling is only on the one pole challenges , the other tourneys trolling is fine lol
Flootie16 there are 10 regular tourneys that trolling, spider rigging, trolling cranks and fishing any style other than dynamite and electric fishing are fine and rules are the same as crappie master or crappie USA tourneys and we will also have 2 tourneys a year that are ultimate one pole challenges ( where one pole per team member artificial only those will be the only tourneys where no trolling is permitted same as the major tourney trails but other than those two tourneys all others you may fish anyway you would like to we are attempting to set these up to prepare others to fish the bigger tourney trails kinda a feeder system if u will if you would like you may call me for any further questions or info we'd love to have u come out and as far as Thursday's we realize the issues right now but unfourtunately either fish Thursday's or be ran over by pleasure boats or bass tourneys we will attempt to move them hopefully after the first season to Friday or Saturday but unfourtunately until an opening comes available Thursday's are the only open day thanks Todd

Does anyone know when all the bass tourneys end for the season. Might be good to find out when they end and schedule your tourneys between their seasons. We all know we can catch crappie year round. That might allow y'all to have them on Saturdays. Plus, like Crappiehabits mentioned, boat traffic is minimal between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Just a thought.
I'd consider fishing with y'all if they were on Saturdays. Any other day is no good for me.
Saw this and was really excited, but I am in the same boat as a lot of other folks Thursday tournaments that are early in the morning or start in the middle of the afternoon put out of the ability to participate pretty much outside of the 1 off happen chance. And usually if I am taking a Thursday it is a long weekend for me to head somewhere out of town/state to pursue crappie. Vacation days are to precious to use them all for a crappie tournament. As someone who has fished Taylorsville a quite a bit over last couple of off seasons I can attest to the boat traffic on the weekends really drops off once it gets to around mid-October anyway. Similarly, during the spring, until you get to mid-March for the most part the pleasure boat traffic is about nil. Anyway, all that being said, if things change later in the season or for the 2nd year, I am interested. Otherwise, best of of luck to you all. Hope you have a successful run of it, as there is not enough of this kind of thing around here locally outside of the usual bass suspects...
Guys let me ask this if we added some Saturday's in would this help you guys out just adding enough Saturday's to help qualify
I know of at least 3 and possibly up to 6 from Washington county that would do Saturday dates. Maybe more
Ok we have a meeting July 14th I'll bring it up to try to add some Saturday events to schedule and see what we can do we will try our best to help make it fish able for all but only so much we can do with our work schedules and being able to be there but we will try our best and I'll report back asap
I would come out if I can find a partner on a weekend and it would be a LOT easier to find one of those on a weekend. And like I said, I can't make it at all on a thursday at the times that I saw earlier.
We will do what we can like I said we work 24-48 shifts as public servants so we are trying to be as helpful and inviting as we can and it is tuff to make it perfect but we will try we want this to be a huge success but aswell it's a club not just about the tourneys we have a lot of other things planned and in store to help people enjoy being apart
Sorry for sticking my foot in my mouth guys. I have an out of town work schedule where I'm gone for weeks at a time. But I will definitely try to come down and fish a few when I'm off. Thanks guys
