what's up guys? is there anyone out there anymore? this used to be such a great forum.......
This is what happens this time of year, No one is really fishing, but I know that I am thinking about it, I can tell you that I have not seen a post from Urban or masta or even slab in one heck of a long time....
But on a side note the days are getting longer and I can not wait! Start looking for dauck to really turn on it the next few weeks as of now it is still a bit cold and rainy, hard rain can really shut off that lake. but once it starts to warm up a little bit because that is all it needs just a little warmer (constant..) temps, and it should be good.... I plan one hitting it at the end of this month or the begining of next month......
it seems like when slab left the forum kinda died......
COMEBACK SLAB !!! SUP? FELLAZ:eek:
I'm still out here. Hopefully we've only got about 2 more weeks before we can start hitting the lakes again. Like Koke said the days are starting to get longer, and i'm even waking up earlier. I got a new battery for the boat the other day, and its no longer a storage unit.
I am getting ready, I am looking for a new boat to buy and if it stays on the market for a couple months i think I found it.......
nice
yeah and it is under 9 grand.....
I haven't done any fishing to talk about and have instead been trying to keep the mold/mildew out of my boat. Just ordered up some dehumidifers but now its almost time to get it back out on the water. I was out in the garage lining reels this weekend so I know it is getting closer. :)
I've been keeping an eye on your board since there's no Oregon board and you're the closest to having the same spawning patterns and weather patterns to where I live. I'm starting to dream about fishing quite a bit lately.
I've got all these new jigs to try and a new AquaVu camera that's driving me nuts. Now if those lakes will just fill up with water so I can get the boat out.
Hang in there, spring is just around the corner!
What's up guys? Hang in there, the cabin fever will break soon.
Still looking for a boat Koke? Keep an eye on the Valley Marine pre-owned section. There should be some good deals popping up soon: http://www.spokanevalleymarine.com/
Stevens always has great deals as well: http://www.stevensmarine.com/used-boats.php
hey, good to see most of you guys are still around. i'm really getting anxious to get out and fish. i just got a pontoon boat from ebay, and i ordered some new stuff from cabelas (swim senkos, charlie brewer 1" crappie grubs, cabelas fuzzy grub things, 2 shallow shadraps, and 2 jointed shadraps). and i still have my pflueger president and extreme xps rod that needs to catch a fish.
i'm really pumped to go fishing in the pontoon boat. i'll be able to fish so many cool little lakes that i couldn't before......
come on spring
I'm ready to order up an UL and MH to round out my rods and get some more baits of course. I might go out soon and wet a line just for the hell of it once the weather starts cooperating more.
Just a little while longer...
SUP? FELLAZ HEY KOKE NICE BOAT HOPE YOU GET IT . I'VE BEEN SEEING SOME NICE ONES ON CRAIGLISTS ABOUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. MY WIFE WAS TEASING ME WITH SOME OLD PICZ OF SLABZ AND SHE HAD THE KID IN TEARS BECAUSE THE SKUNKZ WHOLE FAMILY FISHED WITH ME ALL SEASON . I'LL HOLLA
Those Pontoons are cool as heck. Word to the wise, get you a little trolling motor for it.

Nothing like spinning around close to a dock with a fish on.
WOW 7 posts in one day, damn! F" the groundhawg this is prof of an early spring!
Yeah, it's getting bad. I almost went trout fishing last weekend just so I could catch something :D. I haven't been out fishing since the first week of December. Just bought a house so that's been eating up all of my money and time.
CK, let me know how those slider grubs work out. I seen an old Jimmy Houston show where he was killing the crappie on those things. I use the Slider worms for smallmouths. Those are a killer bait that not a lot of guys up here use.
Slab what's the forecast for NW fishing this year? Better than normal? Average or a continuation of the last two years?
I liked last year It was probably my most succesfull year by fay I caught more and bigger fish than I ever have and I owe a lot of that to you guys. Thanks buds!
I think this year will be better than last year. The bass fishing was great but the crappie fishing was the worst I've seen in the last 6 years or so. The bigger lakes all had low water levels which might have screwed up the crappie spawn  . I think they might have spawned on deeper wood and gravel so I just didn't catch that many big ones on the large lakes.
The only big slabs I caught last year all came from smaller landlocked lakes. Washington, Union, Moses, The Snake...all had low water last season. With the big snow pack we have up in the mountains this year, the reservoirs and lakes with inlet/outlet streams should look good this Spring. I think I'm going to spend most of this Spring and Summer on Lake Kapowsin and Alder Lake.
Hey slab I have a tournament on Alder in april this year......

is that gonna be with the rainier bass club koke?
i think those slider grubs should work good. i bet jimmy was using the crappie sliders though  . i got the 1"ers, i figured they would work better for perch and bluegill. his slider heads and worms are great!
oh, i forgot to tell you guys that i'm going to moses tomorrow for my 4 day weekend. ice should be gone from under the bridge so we'll see what happens........
THe tourney is for bass with the rainier bass club I think that you guys would be interested in it, it is a small club with some dirty old hicks but nice people all the same. that is going to be the first one of the year.....rainierbassclub.com
I do plan on fishing kokes there this year and fishsom paper mouths as well I hear that there are some real slabs in there....
Ck good luck at mosses! I am going to be at Rufus Woods trying to get a double digit trout and some big kokes! and maybe a walleye!
Slab We really need to get some fishin innot just talk about it as we have been. I am up to travel or put in for gas!
i was thinking of joining the club but my dad really doesn't want to drive to tacoma....... that one guy on fishingfools really wanted me to join for a while...... i might see how you do this year and maybe i'll join next year. by then i'll probably be better at bass fishing (i need to work on my largie fishing)....... and hopefuly be able to drive :D
Hey guys,
I'm stuck down here in Long Beach California working for Sea Launch, a company that sends satellites into space. Came here to get into Boeing. My beautiful wife and I just bought a home off the Mukilteo Speedway between Lynnwood and Mukilteo on Serene Lake. I have another 8 months to go down here before I return home.
I can't add to anything you guys are doing because I'm down here doing penance. However, I would like you all to know that you make my day because soon I'll be up there being a contributing member to the forum.
Thanx to all of you for keeping it real for me.
HK
Thanks for the info Slab. I'm working 4/10's now so i should have plenty of time to get my fish on.
Can you guys post some info on the crappie lakes up north. I plan on hitting a lot of different lakes this season, and i've never fished north of seattle.
Ck- I have only gone to one meating and i told them right off that I would not be able to make most of them do to the time, they are completly ok with that. Iif you can make one every three months or so I think that would be fine.
HookSetter I can not wait for you to get up here and get some fish!
Chris I have no idea the same as you but we should hit it up some time and get our fish on yeah! get our fish on yeah! (sounds like a Missy Eliot song)
Those are what I call....fishermans hours right there. That's about as close as you can get to a perfect work schedule :D.Quote:

The crappie will suspend out in the middle of the cove there. It's a pain to launch a bigger boat though. There's a small lake called Chain Lake that has a ton of crappie in it. I've never caught one over 10" but there are a lot of fish in there. I haven't been up there for 8 years now but it was electric only then. Might want to check the regs before fishing that one. But the biggest sleeper lake up there is Cottage. It's a cartop only launch but my god, there are some nice crappie and largemouths in that little lake.
Hooksetter, hang in there. The fish aren't going anyplace. We'll all have to hook up for a day of fishing when you get back up here.
Koke, we'll be out chasing those bass again this year. I'm about 10mins from American Lake and she's full of big smallies. I'll run up and fish Washington whenever you have some time this season. You still have to show me how to catch those Kokes on Meridian too. Did you hear what the state did down there? They put a grate across the stream so the kokes couldn't spawn up in the stream. I heard guys where taking buckets full of fish home this fall. The kokes were forced to try and spawn in the swimming area:mad:.

oh, my trip to moses was a big waste of time. but i did get my first crappie of the year. at least i had my cabelas order at my door when i got home :p
hey man if u got a fish then it wasnt a waste of time!
I went out to the big lake just to wet a line for a few and man now I'm sick as a dog!
And my big BPS order hasnt come in yet either :P
driving a total of 6 hours for 3 crappie (6" each) and 2 bass (smaller then the crappie) is a waste of time IMO. i should have gone to lake washington
what new toys did you get from basspro? a good BPS order will always make you feel better :D
I got a Bionic Blade/Shimano Sahara MH combo, and a cheap berkley UL that was on clearance to round out the rods.
I also got some senkos (5", I have every size but the 5" which was weird), some slider heads you guys always talk about, and a couple of jigs.
I still have to make a cabelas order as well.

CK, there are some nice small lakes in Federal Way. They all fish just like Blueberry does. Time it right and you can fill the boat with fish. Miss the spawn and you'll have to drag a jig around the weedlines to catch them. All of those lakes have nice largemouths as well. 3inch Senkos kill 'em. Trust me, try to spend some time on those lakes if you can. They are so underfished that it's not even funny.
i just goy my pontoon........ now i got to go use it :D
anyone have any ideas were i could catch a fishy? :p
LOL. i should be able to catch a fish there :D
I dont think they are gonna let you float your pontoon in there ;)
