Couldn't stand it any longer. Hooked up the other woman and headed for an out of the way lake here in Deland. That idea didn't work very well for me but it did for a guy who was leaving. It seems he had used the ramp last evening without issue, but today was a different story. Try as he might he wasn't able to get his van to pull the boat up and out of the ramp. Looking at the ramp I knew it wasn't going to happen for me either. Went to flat ground and dropped mine and got out the strap and did what we know each other would do , reconnected and went in search of another ramp. So if the Whitehair bridge was good enough for the Crappie Masters, it's good enough for me. Not too crowded and got unloaded in record time. Pulled up to attach the new fender liners on the trailer, all 6 screws. Made it to two and the cordless gave up, spare battery at the house. Murphy's law. Into the ride and eased out into the river to find traffic light. Got to the area I wanted to fish and was glad to have it all to myself. Now it's been every bit of 15 years since I've been here but it did well for me in the past. I saw birds coming and going, the calls of others unseen, and a dragonfly hung around my boat the entire time I was there. Didn't load up on the fish but did see a lot of lily pads getting bumped around so I stuck with it. Got a chunky 'gill, a Longnose Gar about 16", and an acrobatic convict greenfish that was so excited he got an early release before he could make a cameo for this post. So I got 1 of this and one of that and one of the other. I hear that's a Slab limit. Here's the pics, it was good to get out after so long without. Thanks for visiting with me today.......Skeet
