I added a hi-speed transducer for my 999 unit. I purchased the splitter cable . I was told it would automatically use the hi speed transducer for the 2d and read depth at hi speeds but mine didn't any info.

The AS SIDB Y cable disconnects the wire channel going to the 2d piezo in the HDSI ...and redirects the wire channel to the 2d piezo in the Dual Beam ... It is wires ...no "switching" involved ...

If you did not get 2d when the Setup was completed ...either...:
*The AS SIDB Y cable is bad ...
*The Dual Beam xducer is bad ...
*The Dual Beam cable is not fully seated in the AS SIDB Y cable connection ...

I have that exact hook up everything is plugged in good . It's probably my luck something isn't functioning properly. I will get on the water and unplug the si transducer to see if the 2d will work if so its the splitter cable. Smh.
Ok got on water today. Unplugged the hdsi side imagine transducer from the splitter and the 2d worked fine. However when I got to hispeed my depth readings went to 1ft reading. I'm guessing the transducer itself my not be in best location I mounted it in the same place where a older model depth finder transducer was installed. For lack of actual picture it's in the spot where the two plugged holes are in this photo.
I'm confused ...
Where is the 2d xducer ... In the bilge ..??

It's where the two black holes are in this photo . This photo taken before it was installed .the two black hole was where the original transducer that can with boat was installed and it read fine . Just wandering if the hummingbird was different?
Your high speed hull design lifts the boat nearly completely out of the water on plane (like in this depiction) ...

The 2d xducer must be below the blue lines in the depiction to actually be in the water when your hull is on plane ...

What is considered high speed? My Tracker 175 will do 40.
Did you get this fixed? I am in the process of evaluating getting a high speed transducer to use on my 859 hd di unit so I can continue to pick up bottom while on plane. Would need the splitter and will locate the hi speed xducer down below the hull line on the opposite side of the hull from my di xducer.
Yes however it has gotten ripped off in a stump bed . But it did work good just make sure you mount it even wth the water l8ne.
