American Angler Pro

Well I finally broke down and bought a American Angler Pro electric fillet knife. After wasting a lot of money on most of the other brands that either just stopped, wouldn't cut through crappie ribs or got to hot and burned out I am going to try this American Angler Pro. I don't know why they call it a American Angler as it is made in China. Seems like everything is made there now a days. I hope it works better than the 5 other brands that I have went through. I have read a lot of good reviews here on Crappie.com about the American Angler Pro series electric knife so maybe this will cut through the ribs and last a long time as it was almost double the price that I gave for all the other electric knifes. Well it comes with a 2 year warranty so that is a plus as most don't even have a warranty or have 1 year warranties. Hope to catch a few crappie in the next few days to give it a good try or work out. I will be letting you all know in the future how it is working for me.

Mine had survived 3 Oscar orgies in Florida and 3 years of less vigorous outings. Plus I got mine used off EBay, though the seller claimed it had been used only a couple of times. Rapala and other brand blades will fit mine also, which helps cause I'm on my 3rd set of blades.

You are going to LOVE this knife man!!!! Will glide through even catfish ribs with zero difficulty!!!

Word of advice, do not become a crappie guide in a state with no limit,lol! I'm at 2630 filleted since starting in May. I try to cut it off at 100-150 fish depending on how many fishermen I have on board. The catch in the picture was 167 for a group of 5 that has fished with me for

I got the same knife and just got the hang of using the electric and love it vs the regular fillet knife but last week I had some slabs to clean and I was having issues with the button sticking when I let off of it. Just wondered if anybody has had the same issue with it or not. I guess it don't matter if it sicks but since I'm still kind of a newbie with an electric, I still live to stop the blade for a second once I hit the spine before turning the blade to the side.

The American Angler is the only knife I recommend to clients who ask. The shark blades are a neccessary extra. Even after thousands of fish she keeps on going....altho I bought a back up because shes starting to grind in the motor...probably the brushes or something.

well i just contacted them on my saltwater edition to see if I can get it repaired. I've had it about 3 years so no warranty, but the only thing wrong with it is the blade retention on one side. I hate to throw away $100+ knife on something so simple. I own 3 American Anglers and they are the best knife I have been able to find.

I am loving mine so far after filleting several this morning with no problems. It even cut through the catfish rib cage with hardly no pressure on the knife. Here is the morning catch that I fillet.

got mine last week and cleaned my catch about twice as fast as with my former electric knife would. mine also got stuck several times. I do not like that. I'm Th inking about spraying some wd-40 up the switch.

LP, you got me on this knife with your comments a few weeks back. caught a few on Sunday and cleaned on Monday. best knife I have ever had (except for the trigger sticking). thanks!!

Been using AA knives for over seventeen years now. First one lasted around thirteen years and only greased it one time. The newer ones, I've been thru two or three in the last four years. Still the best electric out there. Shark blades make a big difference on those eight pound walleyes.

We are sorry to hear that you experienced a problem with you American Angler electric knife.
In a case such as this is that once a precision electric knife has been used to the point that there are worn out components in need of replacement, it is not as simple as replacing a single component. Most cases are where you replace a single worn out part and in only a fish or two another worn out component fails. This process repeats its self until basically you have rebuilt the entire interior of the knife; by this time the person most likely has become frustrated with the product as well.

I had one that worked just fine through ribs etc but I could never seam to remove the fillets without the blade catch on the skin.

Loosen the screws that hold it together that my help on the button sticking.

Hello and thank you for your purchase. We usually do not replace knives that are purchased on ebay as they are used and are generally out of warranty when sold on ebay.
The ebay proof of purchase will not help any for a warranty claim. You can try to contact the seller for a proof of purchase.
Another helpful bit of information.
There is a date stamp on the handset, if you can contact our customer service at [email protected] with the date code, they will do what they can to replace it for you.

I am really enjoying my American Angler electric it has a lot more power than the other that I have used. It almost makes it a pleasure to fillet my crappie up against the less powerful ones.
