Old school
How many of us had one of these? It was a time way before the co pilots do I pilot. The box took the place of the big pad on the power drive and auto pilots. This was' something' back in the day .I've had this project boat for a LONG time and need to get it wrapped up to sell to fund another boat project. Everything on it is 80s& 90s. I took it out to the lake this morning before church to try everything out. All worked except the live well. The lord blessed me with a good safe trip, got a little wet, caught a few fish, but now I can say I have caught fish off the boat. 1980 polarkraft, mid 80s Yamaha and a 99 auto pilot.ive had most of this stuff for 10 years and used it today fishing for the first time. I still use the corded model as you show. It works great, and fulfills all me trolling needs. No need to wizz away a couple of grand on the I pilot, when this system works flawlessly with little to no problems.
-
I got one of those too! It works really well. I had thought of putting Velcro on my pants leg and on the bottom to have sit on my knee. I've dropped it so many times it's amazing it still works. So I'm not the only Tigger around. LOL:highfive
Ink, I don't see your logic. If you can spring for a new boat but not a new trolling motor! Why did you spend thousands on a boat? You could have kept what you had and saved several grand and loaned it to my cause. Because I need a new boat. :highfive

I gotta a new trolling motor, and two new corded steering devices. I had a co-pilot once, it let me down a couple of times. I just don't trust those wireless devices to last very long.

What's even cooler is that hood ornament on the bow:Rofl

Let's hope we have good equipment and spare batteries. I have paddle will travel too!:biggrin
-
Same as ink, I still use mine every trip as well.
-
I still have mine and will keep it for as long as I can. My autopilot is my back up if my I pilot hick ups! It will be clumsy at first I know until I get back in practice if I need it.:Rofl

Had one of those corded control boxes in the late 1990s. Velcroed it to the dash of my console. Worked great. Got it from Fishermans Friend in Kannapolis, NC. Think he's out of business these days. Older I get, more I appreciate "vintage".

What's this rig going for?
-
They used to sell for about $60 I think (?). Been awhile.
-
I meant asking price for the boat package?
Thanks for the answer though.:biggrin
