With the horrible tournament season I've had so far this year, I've decided to change my pre fishing strategy. It may be Illegal to use in the tourneys on Tournament Day, but my pre fishing is headed in a New Direction. [emoji12][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Sad thing is that I have watched several folks do that on grenada lake! Its kinda sad

Be a fisherman and find fish.... thats all. I have had folks watch me and come fish close enough that i could spit on there boat. In my opinion thats not cool. There are tons of fish and tons of water in a lake. Dont come that close to me unless your invited. Common courtesy is few and far between now days.Quote:

I only use mine for tying on new jigs. Just after miraculously coming up with a color that they are biting.
I only use binoculars to spy on women sunbathing on pontoon boats......................

It's fine by me.. didn't want to start a debate over it. I fish for pleasure, relaxation and the chance to catch a fish, if I'm ever so lucky. But, just so I grasp this, it's not ok to do this in tourneys, because that's competition (money and bragging rights)? Meanwhile, people who just want to enjoy fishing can be encroached upon and crowded out of a spot and it's all in days fishing? Lol, and let's not get ugly about it.. I'm just curious is all.
I think we're talking about two different things. The original thread was about the use of binoculars and somehow it's been equated with having folks right on top of you and encroaching. Not for that at all, but I speck we could get a pretty good discussion on what distance is encroaching.Quote:

I think everyone has had the boat seeing you catching fish and zoom in and get right on top of you. Me and my fishing buddy were at Sardis 2 years ago in mid March. We have a couple spot that we fish when the water is just right. It's a small ditch filled with brush and stake beds. Best pre spawn but holds fish 90 % of the time the water is deep enough. We were on the ditch following it in and catching a few fish. A couple guys kept getting closer and closer trying to see what we were catching them on. It looked for all purposes we were fishing in open water. They were within a boat length of us before we stopped fishing and moved on. People kill me.
I just enjoy fishing and sharing it with others. More than once I have i been on fish and if you weren't right on top of them you couldn't catch a thing and have invited other boats to join. We fish on smaller lakes in Kansas than I was use to in Oklahoma and it isn't unusual to have four or five boats fishing in a 30 to 50 yard area. Its a good way to meet other and learn from them. Maybe i'm just getting old and don't have as much to prove :fish
Oh and i don't usually catch fish so people don't get much help from me :)

Let's wait till dove season this fall or duck season this winter for those contraptions... further the "range" of my definition of encroachment... Lol.. :-) And armyman, I'm glad these discussions (in calm and humorous tones) go two sided, or more at sometimes...Lol.. If we all agreed on every single thing then it all would get boring real quick... and from what I can tell, everyone enjoys MS forums comraddity...
