Think positive. It's only May 14th. Couple of days of warm weather and all heck will break loose. I had 70-71 degree surface temp Friday and some are spawning now in bigger lakes. Lots have spawned in smaller waters. I even have cleaned gills that are ready to explode. Crappies in East fork of White River are full of eggs also. Full moon next Sat.
the water i was on, yesterday, went back down to 58* surface temp. its definitely hacked a couple days, but no big deal.
Should be getting ready to blow up.:cheers2:cheers2
Fished Missy today. 1 fish all day near the banks. Cold front deffinitely moved them. They are running late i agree. Except for a 2 week period earlier this spring it has been pretty cool temp wise. The 1 fish we got today was a male and was just barely starting to turn.
does anybody know what the water temp is at patoka
Guess we shall find out maybe this weekend. I still need some in the freezer. Lol Thanks guys.
Long rang forecast tonite beginning next Monday with 80 then rest of the week cracking mid 80's. Thre is your change in the upcoming weather.
Accidently caught some crappie Saturday while looking for gills on Dogwood. They looked to be all males with their colors still on. A little sun will warm up the cool water quickly so we should have a good weekend with the full moon. Apparently the 9 inch limit for crappie does not mean anything to some people, they are still cleaning them well below the limit and gills 5 inches long.
Give the C.O. a friendly call when you see that crap going on. Sure they would be more than happy to drop by and write a ticket or two.
waters back up in the mid60s here. catching craps very shallow 2-4ft. spawn very close, if not in motion, here in the NE.
