Moved rod holders to front.
Added 3/4 oz weights to rods about 3' above jigs or jigs w minnows
I'm planning on having 6 rods out front and going slowly around brush piles.
What weight of jigs do y'all use keep baits as vertical as possible.
Set up with 1/16 currently
No experience at it at all

First problem I see is that you need to have the boat in the water for the system to function normally other than that it looks good
I use 1/32oz with a 1/4oz weight about 15" above jig. I find the smaller heads work better for me. Try some of both and see what works for u. Good luck to you.
I use both 1/32 and 1/16th jigs tipped with 1/2-3/4oz. Weight about 18-24" above jig.
IMO to much weight. If you are too going to tight line brush just a good sized split shot will work. I keep mine about 16" above hook. Most times I use just a #8 hook.
I use a 3/8 or 1/2 about 12 inches above a gold hook with minnow or 1/32 jig. ease up to the pile and stop , when the line gets vertical look out! Also keep it about 12 foot down in the water, thats if you are fishing brush in 16 to 20 foot of water, deeper brush you'll have to go deeper.
Try not to move more than .2 mph if possible.
6 rods is plenty to watch. Ive fished 8 before but 6 is plenty if theyre biting any at all. If theyre biting fairly regular then keeping 4 in the water is a chore. Good luck to ya.:)
There will be many opinions on this I gather, but for slow trolling, pushing, or tightlining I use a 3/4 ounce lead with about a 20" leader where a 1/16 ounce minnow tipped jig can be found on the end. When fishing right over top of brush, with limited movement, a splitshot above a hook and minnow is all that's needed.

With all that lead and hooks he's going to move all the brush around but that's okay! They need to be moved if he's not catching fish on them. :Rofl

Brett, I don't think it makes that much difference with a minnow or not. If they are hungry. If you try both you'll know what they want. Right! Your jigs look like they will do the trick alone.:highfive If you have problems getting them close enough to the brush then let me borrow them and I'll check them out for you.Devil Icon
To tip or not to tip is a big question!! :) If slow trolling (spider rigging ) under .5 I like to tip my jigs but if I plan to push at a fast speed I don't tip to often in the hot months. To me it seems like in the late spring / summer live bait seems to pull in the bite on slow biting fish around brush & deeper flats.

I just purchased those same rod holders and installed them on my boat. I really like the ease of adjustment in all directions. Great system and not real bad price.
