Got out early today, planning to troll jigs. Hit Allison ramp, and stayed near the ramp trolling.
Water is stained after 4+ " of rain.
Here's a pic of the sonar image.
How about an analysis!

Caught 2 nice crappie and a few dinks, one big kitty.
Water was clearer near 274 bridge
Lastly cast jigs to brush. No bites

Not real good with the finder stuff but looks like alot of trash all through the water.
But hey you got out and catch a few. Congrats.
Wonder how the water will be for the Hartwell night stalk this Saturday!

Muddy water, equates to sensitivity to high. Your getting returns on silt within the water column. Glad you was able to get out a catch a couple.
I seen the same thing today on mine, but it only started at about 30 foot and deeper, I was up the lake in the river run, I figured it was trash near the bottom,but something happen because I couldn't find many fish today! Fishing for perch but couldn't find them schooled up no where, it was like they were scattered real bad, just one here and there. Did get enough to make a few catfishing trips if i can keep them alive.
I think it's space aliens using x ray splat a dashes with color chrome in an attempt to bleach jigs to use in space. In other words it's trash and as Ink said dingy water not allowing clear returns. Glad some body got out there to check it out. I was going to go to Wateree this morning with my brother but it didn't pan out. We had stripers on our minds. Was hoping they were still up river. Heard a couple reports but not reliable by source! LOL. Good try Brett, maybe tomorrow!:highfive

Under normal conditions wylie doesn't develop a thermocline, too much flow through the lake, it doesn't have time to stratify. drought years maybe.

I never knew the water doesn't turn over here on Wylie. I have smelled swamp gas here a couple of times and always thought it was the change taking place.

All these Wylie guy's done went out and spent all the money mama gave em. So I had to keep up with the crowd. Repowered the Old Tub. Wanted a new one but didnt work out. Ended with a used Suzuki 50. I know some folks say bad choice and some say way to go. It is kinda like do you drive a Chevy or Ford Or Dodge. We got her about up and ready to fish. Have a couple gauges to get wired in and look out. So let's get something going on Wylie for her maiden voyage !
