5 fish weigh in? I fished Saturday afternoon in the rain, caught 14 keepers. Mostly all big female whites 6-8ft deep. Rain didn't effect color to bad near Settlers Trace.
Although the majority of crappie tourneys are a 7 fish stringer, this particular tourney is a 15 fish weigh in. We caught all our(crappiehabits and myself) in 10-18 fow pushin Rockport tipped with minners.

They didn't do a big fish but I didn't see any larger than this one.

I was going to be very very impressed if it was 5 or even 7 fish weigh-in for that weight. I didn't even know that Tville hosted any Crappie Tourneys.
I got to meet u guys yesterday after weigh-in. It was a little more brief than I wouldve liked. Haha. Just wanted to congratulate y'all on a good day and impressive fish. We will talk more in the future I'm sure. Good job guys!
Yeah my buddy called sat night and asked if we were fishing tournament sunday morning.we looked at weather and obviously made wrong decision not to fish it,beautiful day.they said if it rained they were canceling and already had an alternate date scheduled.oh well next year
This is a local event put on by mt washington police for kosair kids. But central ky crappie has a spring and fall tourney there also I believe. This is a good event. Cook for you afterwards and you get a t shirt and a care package type bag. Nice event. 60 boat turnout last 2 years.

Glad to meet you Crappiehabits and KyWarEagle. My wife and I fished the tourney and got schooled bad. It was our first one. On the good side we he fun and learned some things for next time. You guys put on a clinic. I was impressed. Hope to see you again sometime.
Thanks but it was hardly a clinic. We lucked into some fish we had found the day before. And do not feel bad. A few years ago, we had six fish at the time of weigh in. Definitely learned some with each one. But they are very fun, have good food, and support a great cause. Hope to see ya again soon.

Maybe give us a "heads up" a week or two before the next one (if at Taylorsville). I'm sure there would have been a few more members that would have fished it, had they known about it in advance.
I don't fish the Crappie USA or CKCA tourneys ... but, an "open" tourney like that would have interested me.
For anyone readin this thread interested and has a facebook, my name is Stephen Crepps, crappiehabits is Chad Crepps, add us on facebook. We started a private group called taylorsville lake crappieholics and we thought maybe we could use it to try and coordinate some fruit jar tourneys and such like like that.

I don't (wont) do Facebook so if you could post on here also because I would definitely be interested. I used to fish tourneys every other weekend at Rough but it was difficult to compete against the locals and a long drive.
