Should be here next week.
Kinda looking at one myself, hope you will post some pics and reveiws!
I think you made the right choice and also, I think you'll get good customer service from Rhodan. I downloaded, there online manual. In the manual, they practically beg you to call them for any help or questions you have. (it even says, if you have problems finding a the appropriate plug for the power, to give them a call and they would be happy to help.)Also, they have a list and prices, of all the replacement parts, for there trolling motors
Have you read what some of the owners, over at the hull truth have posted about there experience, with Rhodan has been,? New Rhodan 72" v. Minn Kota 36v 60" on bigger boat. - The Hull Truth - Boating and Fishing Forum
I have read all the stuff about rhodan both good and bad. The one I ordered is a 12 volt 55 lb thrust unit for my fisher 1710. If it doesnt work u will all read about it and I will burn up the tech support lines. The four pole motor is theory at least should provide more efficiency. I understand I am taking a chance. Yeah they are expensice but hell someone has to take a chance!
People gripe about the mk and mg also. I took a chance on the Onix with its software issues so taking another one on the rhodan. Wish me luck guys!
Good luck for sure!!!! Hope you love it because I have almost made my mind up to get an 80 lb thrust. They are coming out with 120 lb in 2 months per a conversation with Kyle yesterday.
My boat is aluminum and performs well with the the 55 lbs. I understand the tradeoffs. The way my boat is made there is not really space for the second battery either. Good luck also on ur choice!
Is this girl real short or the trolling motor, real tall? http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...pso30dog4a.png
Rhodan Facebook page, says that there dual gps system will hold you in a three circle. :dono:dono:donohttp://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psquig1opw.png
Looking forward to seeing how it works for you.
Thanks I certainly hope so also!!
Very intrested in this as well.
I ordered one this morning. It's in transit, right now:woohoo:woohoo
Mine hasnt shipped yet. Supposed to ship today!
Yeah, when I talked to them last week some models were not in stock. :popcorn
Just my luck. Good luck with ur unit!
U make a good point. After it arrives hurry up and get it installed so I can enjoy hearing about it. I am keeping a positive attitude. I am very difficult to impress so we will see. I have been impressed with my Onix, even running 2.70!
Thanks
Greg
Looking forward to an evaluation on this TM!!
I will be looking forward to kosmo's info as his will arrive before mine. Beware they are not cheap!
Which would be best? My tolling motor is 24v and yours is 12v,and this is your thread. Would you think it best to post all in this thread or should I start a separate thread?
As far as general operation goes they should be identical. Of course power is different but that doesnt seem to enter into most discussions that I
have seen. I think we should keep them together.
Greg
Motor is huge, also the power cable.. [URL=http://s826.photobucket.com/user/kosmo012/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20160427_163605_zpsukxcj9rk.jpg.html]http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psukxcj9rk.jpg[/URLhttp://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psd35adjxg.jpg]
Did you order it with the Line-x or did it just come that way?
Wow u did drop some coin. I did not go for the line-x. Hope u like it!!!!!
I can't believe u don't have it installed. U need to let me know what to expect either good or bad! I hope we don't both cry!
Good luck
Greg
My first impression, just looking at it. It appears to be well made. It's easy to install, but I could only get one bolt hole to line up. Have to make new holes for the rest. Once the mounting plate is in place, it's really cool how the trolling motor locks into place. Once it's tighten down, it can be locked in place with a small master lock. When you get ready to remove it, just remove the lock, turn the locking mechanism and lift up on the carrying handle. It's balanced really well. Test drive, will be in the morning :ThumbsUp:Thumbs up...http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...psear1zopx.jpg
I just fastened, the bracket to the trolling motor. Set it on the boat and decided where I wanted it. Drew a line around the bracket(on the boat). Removed the trolling motor from the bracket drilled holes, put the bolts in and all done. http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps2mb9kdlb.jpg
:ThumbsUp That bracket came with the trolling motor ....or an extra?
Good luck! One thing, does it stick out in front of the boat as far as it looks like it does? Just curious.
Me and the Rhodan are bonding really well. Much better spot lock than the the xi5(when the winds not blowing). Not sure yet, when winds blowing. Both do really well in the wind. Rhodan gear box is much quieter, but I think that the motor is a bit louder, not much tho.
My rhodan has not even shipped!
Enjoy yours!
Greg
I read that after lifting the motor u need to move the collar down before getting underway. There will a slight learning curve. Glad u like yours. This is an expensive experiment! But if is what I think then it will be worth it.
Happy fishin
Greg
The owners manual, says a 50 amp receptacle is required. My boat only has a 30amp receptacle. I called Rhodan, they said that the 30 amp receptacle would be just fine as long g as there's a 50amp breaker. I have the 50 amp breaker, so alls well. (they were very helpful and explained the amp load required told me to call back with any other questions I had.
Yes technically usually a 20 percent safety rating is used. I have a 50 amp breaker on mine also.
