Dad told my sister he wanted my son to have his. I'm holding it for him while he's over sea's serving his country.
Any CDC folks got one to share?
Got to take the time rearrange them.

Very nice....lot of stories there.....
I would bet that your son will be proud to have that some day when he returns home. Thank him for me for serving our country. Please shake his hand for me. It is because of men and women like him that I can lay my head down and sleep like a baby during the night, or day as far as that goes.
Thank You, Lord, for our military service men and women. Please keep them safe and bring them home to their families. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Wow what a legacy to leave behind. I know from your stories that your Dad was a great American, a Patriot and a Hero, I'm sure it is reflected in your son as it is in you. I thank all of you for your service to our country and to keeping us safe. I'm sure your son will cherish it as it has special meaning to him as he is following in his Grandfather's footsteps. May God's blessings be with him and keep him safe until he returns home and may your father rest at the side of our Lord.
I like the idea of the note for each medal to state it's meaning and should also state what action it came from as that would enhance it's meaning to us civilians who know little about the meaning of the medals.
Thanks for posting,

I need to make one my medals and my Dads medals are in a box in a dresser drawer........Looks like I need to start a new project.
My middle daughter has my dress blues jacket with medals on it, displayed in a box. My youngest grand boy has it in his room along with my Dad's flag given at his burial. Thanks for sharing that JR. I would love to have my Dad's stuff from WW2, but who know's where it went. I do have a nice shadow box of some very old baits that were his and Mae's Dad's baits. But what you have there is most special. God bless your son and his family.
That is a special shadow box. Memories should be written for each medal and ribbon so it won't lose their meaning.
They are here for anyone to read.

I've got copies.
Sounds like you need to preserve a copy of the book along with the medals so that future generations will always know.

I highly recommend the book. I enjoyed seeing a glimpse of what Mr. Maurice encountered in WW2.
WTG to gzrglide you had quite a career. Only made it to E-5 myself. :ThumbsUp
That's nice GRG.
Will do Pastor. Thanks.
Hey "D" They sell replacement medals.Get to it and post a pic.
Mine was not that impressive. Just 5 or so. My favorite was my double marksman . Pretty good considering I only got to shoot a couple times. Had 100 out of 100 hits both times. M16. Couldn't hit a barn wall from 20 ft with a pistol. lol Anyway, I will try to remember to get a pic. My blues, with full insignia is in a box on my grandson's wall.
