Those velvet tails are pretty. Nice pic.
They may taste like chicken, but you can have my share. I would feed him a load of 8's from my 12 ga.
I usually don't kill rattlers or copperheads but I'm all about clobbering cotton mouths. Where did you find that bad boy?
I like eating them, and usually let them be, unless they scare the cr** out of me, then it is all reaction! LOL
Guy I used to work with actively hunted them to eat. He would bring some into work. Kind of reminded me of frog legs.

As a youth in Montana, I was straightening hay bales in an alfalfa field close to the Hogback, a rocky ridge that was loaded with western diamondbacks. I turned around and almost stepped on a snake that was slithering straight at me. As I recall, my world-record-shattering one-footed sideways broad jump was measured at 30 feet 4 1/2 inches. (or something like that).
