Fixed float crappie bead head flies.

I made these to fish under the some floats I modify by removing their stem and inserting sections of the lead lure bodies I pour for making in-line spinners. I adjust the size of the insert so that 3/4's of the float is under water. These floats weigh about 1/16 oz. The jigs / flies are Mustad 9672 # 10 fly hooks with painted brassie beads for the heads. Tails are my usual arctic fox tail and the bodies are crystal antron chenille. They probably weight about 1/100 oz. Usually fish them two to four feet under float during the spawn which is starting here. They work very well fishing shallow submerged stakebeds. Thought I would share with you all.

I think some black males or in trouble. I fish a very similar setup for spawning fish. You better make more of them black and chartreuse my friend.

Actually black and chartreuse is my best color also. I used to use black and green chartreuse tubes before I started tying these a few years back. Thanks for your comment.

Great idea - only thing I'd suggest is make sure the end holes are really smooth so it doesn't rough up your line. I've got the same bodies for spinner making!!

Great idea Tommy. You bout ready to get that 520 out. Fish should start biting again. Offer still stands in my boat. Pic you up at the dock??

Thanks for thinking about me Buddy. Still having physical therapy 3x a week. Nothing heals easily for us old guys. I am catching a few off my dock of an evening.

Fatman I use a 60 degree deburring tool on the ends of the lead cylinder. You are right that it would tear up the line if it were left untouched.
