We have it in some ditches around here.
My father in law grows it in his back yard. So I usually get mine from him.
I have been looking for some bamboo also.
I know where a bunch of it's growing. North 129th st where it Ts at port road in tulsa
Redge, I was eating at a Chinese restaurant on Meridian last year and saw a couple of guys harvest a pickup load from the creek just behind it.
Muskogee, Okay, Ft Gibson area I know where several stands of bamboo are. If you need some I'll send you a google map with it circled on.
A lot of people mistake River Cane for Bamboo. If you have any friends over in the Hot Springs area, I'm certain they can hook anyone up with as much as they can haul. Last time I got bamboo from over there, I loaded my boat down with it and was able to sink 11, 5 gallon buckets of it standing tall up to 17' with about 7 stalks per bucket. Get over on the Arkie board to do your bamboo shopping!
What we have around here is Arundo donax L., wild cane, AKA Giant Reed.
Very invasive and hard to get rid of. Most of the time the county tries to control a patch, they have to use a dozer to remove the roots, then replace the dirt.
Thanks for the info Reaper!
