LOZ, 22 mile marker, Dock Walker

Greetings fine outstanding minnow drowners... Long time crappie chaser here... Great site.

My kids grew up playing with dead minnows and claim its some of there finest childhood memories, then we moved back from Oklahoma and the limited opportunities the big city brings along with business... my crappie time has suffered, the last couple of years.

So making the most of limited opportunities and time restraints, I've made the decision to become a dock walker. My initial season was last year and did well in the fishing resorts.

This year I'm moving on to condo complexes, the new frontier. No Boat, No Motor, No guide, {he fished more than we did} only my jig pole and my new aquaview camera, 1500 watt leds green and white and my trusty
Berkley® Deluxe Electric Fillet Knife. :]


Got this coming week booked and giving warning to all those crappie that think there safe under those big ol docks around the 22 mile marker.

All help is welcome, I am declaring war. Does it show I might need this? Long time lurker and have enjoyed the post here.

Welcome to the site. The rain and cool front probably pushed them back some but should be moving shallower with the warmer weather. Show us some pictures of those big slabs.

Last years best weapon by far was the metal flake red and chartreuse, Slab Busters, this was the ticket.

Looking for other winners on this lake. Going to try the dock shooting thing from the dock, might be interesting.., see how it goes. One advantage from the dock is you always have shade. :]

We had success, as she said a good week fishing is better than a good week at work. The bite was light and we had to work for them, ended up with limits most days, but spent all day doing it which was fine.

We had a aqua view camera spent the first day finding bush and fishing in the wells, it worked good, even with visibility about 18 inches. We where able to find brush and fish on bottom. Most where on bottom 10 to fifteen feet deep, some we could see on Camera just would not bite.

This week walking the docks had the advantage over the boat folks, winds, and the very light bite.

Tough week... but they call it fishing for a reason, had loads of fun.

Rippertails have been the hot bait for us. Black/Chart, bubblegum/Chart shad and Blue Ice are by far my favorites. Never have to deal with the tail hanging on the hook point.
