Windy week at poverty point

Got to the point on Monday the 21st..started fishing around 3pm..it was perfect and the fish were biting...then came the winds ..got in 2 hours on tuesday before those south winds blew me off the east side..although first fish that day was a 3.08..thats what ya call a great start..wednesday was more of the same wind, wind, and more wind...fished the north end and ended up with 14..so not bad considering .. thursday started with pouring rain..didnt get on the lake until afternoon..bite was good right before dark managed 20 or so..headed home today..besides the crazy winds, it was a successful trip..had 2 fish 3lbs, one 2lb.15, 2 at 2lb.14. one at 2lb.13, one 2lb.12 and 10 others over 2lbs..let all go except for 10 medium size fish i gave to my friend Mr vince..best bait shop in Delhi...guess ill be dreaming all year about next March...

I was there today and the bride and I caught 11 that were fair. Wind was horrible and my boat can't take it too much (16ft Duracraft).

are they on the bank?

We caught ours from 5-7 ft of water.

i don't fish the bank..although folks did catch fish on the bank...i stay in 10-15 fow..the winds were great compared to mid week lol..only fished 2 hours today..had to head back south

Nice report Bob, looks like y'all had a great time. Starting the day with a 3 lb fish must get your heart rate up. Congrats on all the big fish.

Thanks for the information and pictures Mr. Bob. We are planning to be there next week, Mon-Fri, with the grandkids. You got me all fired up with those pictures. It looks like next week will be windy also with some rain on Wed and Thur. If the wind isn't too bad I just may have to put on the rain suit and fish anyway.

Beautiful looking fish!!!Just those would have made the trip worth while.Never fished Poverty but will one of these days.Always good to see fish like those and hope to see you guys soon on the water and remember to keep "suckingemup"':fish

Congrats on the catches.. I seen your pics on PP's facebook page and recognized you... Lots of big fish being caught there this year. Maybe one day I will make it up there.
