Rain Gear
I found out the hard way in MS that my trusty rainsuit is not so trusty anymore. Anyone seen deal on a high quality rain suit? So far I'm considering the frog toggs guide suit or BPS Goretex Pro Qualifier.
I want something that I can count on to last many years and to keep me dry in heavy rainstorms.

I have one of the newer better FroggTogg outfits. Will keep you dry but not very warm. Can't afford full retail on that better stuff. Take your time and watch Ebay. Some deals to be had on there. I got a very lightly used Cabelas Gortex guidewear parka for 66.00. Guy had used it a couple of times for Sking. Then found a brand new pair of ProQualifier bibs with the tags still on with price tag for 125.00.

My opinion, if you want something that is going to last for years to come, you're going to have to bite the bullett and pay a little more.
My recommendation, BPS 100 MPH gear........ I went w/ the goretex pants/shell and layer underneath when needed. Stuff is awesome and looks the same as when I bought it 8 years ago. Dad has the bibs/larger jacket and they serve him well also.

I've got Cabelas Guidewear, It keeps me dry! I'm a slow learner and it took two trips to Canada with week long rain to get me to figure it out! They're expensive......but GOOD!

I have the bps gortex 100mph and love it works great. I have had it 2 years no problems yet.

I agree with BarryG. The Cabelas guide gear is great. I found it on a sale add and when I called the order they found an additional discount. Still expensive but hate to give up time on the water due to rain.

I bought Cabelas gortex Guide-wear last year. I bought them over BPS 100 mph because Cabela's had the in my size plus on sale. Paid about $125 each jacket and bibs. I like Cabela's clothing and hunting gear over BPS. BPS fishing gear over Cabela's.
I love the guide-wear jacket, wore it all winter as my winter coat. One bad point is pockets are to big and lets you carry to much and the jackets becomes heavy.

That's not the jackets fault!!!!!!!!!!!! :Rofl

I have 100 mph gear and Yikess has Pro Qualifiers. Both work very well but I do catch more and bigger fish than him.

Again that has nothing to do with the jacket Speck. You are probably cutting his hook off when he aint looking.

100 MPH gear is worth the money if fishing tournaments or out of state on trips. It took me many years of buying cheap rain gear to finally give in and spend the money on a quality set. Could have paid for them with what I wasted on all the others that did not last or work.

Thanks for all the input fellas!:ThumbsUp
