It was cold this morning so I started to fish around 2:00 pm for a few hours. Fish were way back up in the creek beds in very shallow water. Also very tight in cover. These guys have had everything thrown at them for a few days. I caught about a dozen crappie and a few small bass. Three keepers. Largest 13 inches. Used 1/64 silver and white jigs.
Fished it again this morning with a friend who is not a crappie fishermen. We each caught about 8 or 10. He caught the biggest that was 13 inches. Got there round 8:30 and 5 guys were already there with many fish in there buckets. We did not get the best spots but did OK for what we had to work with.Kept 4 for my friends dinner.
Marburg is my go to lake, just got a boat & itchin to get out. I'm hoping to get out this weekend if the weather cooperates!
I am a hour from Marburg so it is not my local lake. I am sure others on here are more familiar with it then myself. Hope you and others can post some info on it also Dieselguy. Good luck and tight lines. No Trees!
I'm about 25 mins from Marburg. I haven't seriously fished for crappie in about 25 years and I'm pretty fired up to give it a try again. Sounds like you did ok the last 2 days.
I'm about an hour away as well...but I love Marlburg! I can't wait to get there.
My Friend who fished with me never had crappie before. I got a e-mail last night after he and his wife had them for dinner. Best fish I ( we) ever had! My reply, Yep there are tasty. My wife and I will have our meal tomorrow. Look forward to dinner!

Took the boat out yesterday mostly for a shakedown cruise. Fished a little no luck. I launched at the Hoff road ramp, what a mess it was very badly washed out.
I got the boat out on Marburg yesterday too. No luck in the fishing department. But the boat ran great and it was a terrific day to be out on the lake. Had my son out and we were all over the lake.
Yesterday it happened. The female Eagle had one of her eggs hatch. There is one more to go. It should hatch soon. It is nice to see something good and can help make your day in our busy world. The video cam can be seen through Pa game commission site or Hanover eagle cam. Also Mom has a few snacks ( fish) in the nest .
Finally got the boat out on Marburg today. Windy and cold about 48deg & water temp 47deg. Didn't catch anything but did get to try out the new FF & light off the outboard for the first time. It ran good had the place to myself.
ALL RIGHT SOMEONE FISHING LAKES SOME WHAT NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE STATE. LOVE TO TRY NEW LAKES, THIS LAKE MARBURG ANY GOOD FOR CRAPPIE? THINKING OF GETTING OUT THIS WEEKEND TO DO SOME FISHING, WILL IT BE WORTH MY DRIVE FROM SELINSGROVE AREA?
Well Pa Crappie. I only fish it 8 or 10 times a year so perhaps someone else can give better advice. Marburg is probably the hardest lake to find fish. However when you find them you can get some really nice ones. Until you know were to fish and when to fish there it is very tough. A good example is: A few years ago I ice fished for yellow perch for 3 or 4. 8 hour days and only caught a few each day. Then one day I caught over 20 jumbos in about 2 hours. I keep 10 for a friend. He e-mailed me to tell me 8 of the ten were citation perch. This year we caught about 25 crappie in about 4 hours between 2 of us. The 2 largest were 13 inchers. I fished 2 trips before that and not a fish.

If I had a guaranteed hot spot I would PM you. However there never seems to be any guarantee place to catch fish. You may want to stop at B and B bait and tackle on Factory st. Hanover. They know the lake and can give current advise. I would try the first cove and launch at Black Rock. Sometimes the small coves on the left side of the large cove produces some crappie. Also many fish under the bridges and vertical jig them. Get a park map and give it a try. Hope this helps.
