I seen three boat's keeping every thing they catch knowing they were to short . They did not even measure them just right in the cooler . Even seen one guy wading doing the same thing . Where are the Game Wardens ?. Makes me mad I have to through my fish back and these guy's are keeping them . Just a heads up I well be getting your boat numbers and turning it in the the game and fish department .

Just got the number of one of the game wardens that work that area and he said to get there boat number and the MI letters or where ever they are from and what the boat looks like and call him and he take care of it .
Iv seen it the last couple days. I told a guy his wasn't legal and we've thown 50 back just like it. Wish ole gw would get em.
There's only 2 wardens per county, unless changes have been made. It' a shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sink their boat, LOL
Yeah , they are way under staff . When you just got so many wardens and there is more than 100 boat's on the lake . We need to try and help them as much as we can . I know for one I well be . Carrying a camera with me next time I go out plus I well be watching from the bank too . I got free time now . Just not right when we honest people go out of our way to do the right thing just to let these people flat out breaking the law and not even care . All three of the boats had IL on them too . Not saying locals mite be doing it to but I well turn them in even faster . Put the local wardens number in your phone and USE it when you see this going on , Please . It's not helping or fish one bit .
Shame, shame! I always take my 10X200 binoculars w/ me on the water just for that reason. If I have to abide by the law, everybody else should, too! I won't hesitate to report anybody I see doing it.
How would a person get a GW's number? In the past if I had a question, I'd call the District Office, and they would have a GW call me.
Hopefully your local GW cares. I've reported stuff before and they seemed to care less. Seems unless it rolls through their road block it isn't worth the effort.
The Warden is my best friend Cousin and he don't like short fish being taking at all . So maybe he well get something going .

Exactly , I do the same thing . I know ice well make them shorter so I make sure they are 12 1/2 before I keep one . We just need to get the right Wardens phone numbers for your area and just keep them turned in . Only way it's going to stop .Quote:

Oh yeah , You know if it's a 12 inch fish . When you been fishing for 40 year's like me but anyone can look and see it's under 12 easy .
I hit up farm ponds and private lakes as well for some quick fillets. 9" be pushing it, but 30 or so of them make for a good fry.. everybody has their own way of doing things. I agree with OP just keep it legal, your personal preferences on eating size will vary.. I rather fillet a 13" - 15" myself, but that's going off the original topic here.Quote:

I brought up this very scenario a couple years ago on the main forum. Watched a guy with OS registration hammering short crappie and every one went in his cooler. He called the CO who did follow up on it but who knows how many folks have the same attitude knowing their chances of getting caught are tiny.
We see this a lot on some of our Kansas Lakes that have a 10" rule. I think some people just don't think they had a successful trip unless they have a bucket full to clean. I've seen guys in Kansas with stringers of 7-9" crappie.
Those are the guys that head for the local saloon and brag about their limit of fish that somehow grew to 12 - 14 inches each.
If the wardens start to get a lot of call's it should catch someone attention . If you got two in the boat have the other guy call it in too . See what I am saying . This has to be stopped some how .
This is not new to Enid . Go to wildcats (Dean Hill it is called now ) and you will be shocked at the waders keeping every fish they catch . Unless the spawn is going strong or a tournament there a large number of people keep all fish . They will meet someone at a back road that intersects the creek and take several limits a day . The old road that dead ends at Bluford McCullar or O -tuck are normal pick up spots .The wardens sit at the bottom of the hill going into cats but the real damage is carried out through the old rifle range . :mad:
Nope the tough officers get tongue lashed by the Bubba system at Jackson office!!!!!! I have been told face to face by Great officers they were aBrought in to Jackson office and reprimanded for Kicking ass on Tickets!!! Ask the next on you see what would happen to him if he wrote 20 conviction guaranteed tickets each day!! He will become Pale. In the face and go dead Quiet!!!!!!!!!!!! They know better Skeeered of job security and I don't blame them.

I disagree, had a guy get on to me one time for just going strait to the box with my fish, all over 12 but he claimed they werent, I told him to call the GW if he wanted. We I moved he went straight to where I had been trying to catch some of them "short" fish. GW has a tuff job and tips lead to many citations and are helpful. As for me I won't be calling a warden about someone catching fish to eat just like I don't call the hyway patrol when someone passes me on the interstate, no difference. Fines are in place and their day will come just like it did on Grenada lake last summer.Quote:

It's sad when some people just don't care . It's more money in turkey fines than it is for a crappie . Just saying . Never going to have any nice fish if people don't stop keeping short fish . I for one well call in a minute just like I would if I seen a drunk driver going down the street .

I dont need to keep short fish, heck I rarely keep fish in the spring. All this is figured into to biological data and how they set the regs, they know people are going to do it. I have no problem with you or anyone else calling the GW but claiming the sky is falling because folks are doing this is classic. Conditions on Grenada were terrible yesterday and the lake that has been being destroyed yielded 17 plus pounds to win it and big fish was 3.48, just terrible I tell ya!!!!!:Rofl:Rofl
