Somebody forget to hit the off button on the damn ? Probably worried that we were going to get what Louisiana has been dealing with . Hope you don't substain any major damage , what part of the lake are you located ?
Manny that suck buddy! I hope it rain some and fill up some.
I'm in the Osage beach area.
Grand Glaize arm by the Glaize bridge.
It's two feet below winter pool.
I would be fine with winter pool.
It's sitting in about 6" of mud.
I'm worried about my side view transducer.
It's fricking stupid how low they let it get. They better hope it rises soon or I'm sure they will be getting an earful from people showing up to open up their places for spring.
I never like the low water but I understand why there is a winter pool but this year is just stupid. I hope they get a lot of complaints. If I was a dock owner that should have water I'd be livid especially when they pay Ameren a fee to live there.
Wow, doesn't look good. Hope one of those big barge boat doesn't send a big wave to rock it.
Looks like a great opportunity for you to drag some cedar trees and rocks out into the cove.....ya know.....make lemonade
That sucks. I hope it doesn't sit there long enough to get glued to the bottom.
Dang! That really sucks! I'll have water under my bassboat, but might not have enough to lower the lift. Last weekend I had 5 1/2 ft. I guess Ameren didn't want to get caught with their pants down like they did in December.
I'm gonna try to dig a trench to it to funnel in some water and possibly winch it out slowly.
I have it tied off real good on all sides of the boat so it can't tip either way.
Manny that really sucks. Hopefully it will come back up soon.
IMO, this is a reaction to them getting publicly skewered in Dec when they didn't lower the lake before the big rain and everyone got flooded. The difference this time is the lake had plenty of room to go up and in Dec it was already full. I'm sure Ameren will put a spin on it and say this is why we didn't lower it in Dec, because mother nature is too hard to predict.
Are they expecting another really wet spring like last year? So they draw it down even further? :dono
No, they had it at 654 which is the normal level for winter draw down. Then when they heard we might get several inches of rain this week they decided to drop it another foot. Problem is we didn't get the several inches of rain so now it's still 653. Ameren actually has the right to drop it to 652, but typically 654 is where they usually stop.
What ramps are still usable at 652-653? Coffman? Purvis? would really not like to drop a trailer off the end of one...
Im not sure about that area of the lake. Larry Gale should still be OK I think, but it's on the big Niangua. I would think conservation ramps would probably be the only option right now. The good thing is it's really easy to see brush right now :)
Going up later part of next week. Hope it doesn't mess with the crappie fishun' too much. Will be interesting to see if they try to bring it up quickly and how that impacts things...
If anyone see reports of public ramps closed, post up. I would hate to go down there and have to drive all over creation to put a boat in.
That really sucks, I would be pissed. Hope you get it floating soon.
Just got here and checked it out.
Everything looks good on the boat.
I'm just gonna leave it this weekend and let the water rise.
And try next weekend.
Hi guys first post here. Does anyone know if you can put your boat in at THE FLW REC ramp by mcubbins point
The ramp at Gravois is tricky now. It can be done but you have to take it slow and feel it out.
I've lived here for 26 years and have never seen it quite this low.
I would say that Ameren did this just to make a point. Playing head games.
Maintaining a reasonable lake level has never been a problem before, but now they act like it is near impossible. Whatever.
Why would the federal government give a rat's ass about the pool level of Lake Ozark ?
Supposedly its to prevent flooding down stream, Osage river to Missouri to Mississippi, so they make them stick to rules that was approved by the feds.
