Kentucky Lake 3/4/16

Spent the better part of the day on the lake, pretty cool out there without any sunshine. Been fishing Barkley for the most part but switched gears today and tried Kentucky for the first time in close to 6 monthes. Would like to say they are jumping in the boat but not the case for me today, well atleast the keepers weren't. No shortage of small fish, deeper wood is loaded with them. Probably threw back 50. Ended up with 14 keepers, really had to hold it still to get the better fish to bite. The quality was nice, biggest weighed 2.5lbs. It definitely was chilly out there today but the fish didn't seem to mind...👍
I believe they missed the forecast slightly!!! Light find variable winds my foot!!!

Good day Austin! I spent the day putting out stake beds in barkley. I spent an hour yesterday afternoon casting to some brush, caught a couple. The brush was loaded with fish though, wont be long till its gonna be on!!

Buddy good to see you out as well and glad to hear you guys are excited about another grandbaby on the way.

Jeff, wind definitely was along way from light and variable in the morning for sure.

Thanks Austin! lil Nolan arrived last Wednesday, lil Nolan and family are doing great! Yes I got out on the lake at 10:30 and it was a rough ride across! went back up there and finished up yesterday evening and it was much better.

Nice, that had to be a blast!

I'm thinking about possibly heading to Barkley tomorrow for a day or two if I'm able. Hope I have even half the success you did. Probably just use the kayak so hopefully I can locate a few.

Things may get a little better early next week, looks like they are finally going to be able to close some gates and water temp should ease up a little with the sunshine this weekend. Wind is going to be rough but if a fellow can find some protected water holding fish it should be good. But looking at the extended forecast the reprieve at the dams will probably be short lived.
