Several guys I know use them. They are heavier than most nets of the same length. I have a 12' Dotline and I adjust it to the right length "shorten it" and set the net part under the middle seat when it's folded down and then use the rod strap to tie down the handle up on the bow.
I bought an extendable Ego net earlier this year. Haven't caught a crappie big enough that would make me want to risk losing it by going to get the net. When I get rigging more I will for sure have it handy. The rubberized net makes it more bulky, but there won't be the issue with hooks getting caught up in the net as bad-especially with double hook rigs.
Thanks for the info I'm just getting started in the spider rigging game
Silly me. I just screwed a trout net on the end of a extending paint pole.
Exactly what I did last year. :cheers2
Screws?! You're really going the extra mile there, Jeff. But, you know what they say.....

The Ego Slider is an excellent idea but not very well constructed, I have a Crappie Masters Net that I use but it is a 2 man operation, heavy and stout enuff that it makes an excellent push pole as well!!!
If fishing alone a lot get the EGO reach. A lot lighter and easier to handle.
I agree with this. The Ego Reach net even with the rubber net can be handled pretty well of fishing alone with rods 14' or less. I still have one. Only issue I have with it is fish will sometimes flop out of it. The rubber netting is not real deep and acts like a trampoline when a big fish decides to flop. When tournament fishing I run a Dotline extendable net that was the "Crappie Masters" branded net. It has a light coated rubber mesh. I believe it goes to 13 1/2 ft. But I drilled holes every 6" in it so I can really adjust/fine tune it to what works for which length rods we are using. Takes some length to get out to the 16' rods. I need to get a picture of how I leave it while fishing. The hoop of the net sets on top of my trolling motor head. Then the handle sets on top of my 1199 and then on back to sit on the center of my seat base. This makes it real quick for either guy to grab it and it's already heading to the water by that point.
