Rickie you ever decide to produce those brackets i'm interested. Love my seats but hate the straps.
Another great mod. Way to go.
I looked up the definition of "tinkerer" in the dictionary and your picture was there.
Get a price worked up on them and put me down for 3 pairs.
Lol looks like you started a new product. I'm interested in some
The main reason I've never looked into the millennium seats is the straps
I like that
i like that. nicely done
:notworthy:highfive:cheers2
Nice would like to get a set of them if you sell them.[emoji3]
What's not to like about the straps? I hunt out of a ground blind chair and don't have any issues with straps. What's the issue in the boat seats
I'd like to try one of those seats, but I like my arm rest.
How far back, did you move the attachment on the seat base?
Handy dandy. That's using the old noggin.
I used the existing rear-ward bolt hole on the seat frame ...
And then drilled the corresponding hole in the back frame... determined by how long of bracket I needed to get the arm to fold out of the way when collapsed ...
The item should be on my website soon ...

Still looking forward to getting my first millinium seat.
I like it. :ThumbsUp
I want some and I dont even have Millinium seats yet :biggrin
I just might have to copy that. Good idea. You have a Mill at the house?
Looks like a card table leg bracket. Great idea.
I have considered taking my straps off also. But I thought they didn't serve any purpose but an arm rest. Am I wrong? Will taking them off cause the seat to kinda hyper extend. I put 3 of the Milleniums on my boat and its kinda weird when I bring a guest it takes them a few hours to realize how comfortable the seats are. I usually get something like "hey my back dont hurt like it usually does when I fish". I admire your tinkerin and I bet one day your gonna find a niche and "strike it rich".
mrdux is testing the design for me this weekend to see if there are any issues (safety or otherwise) ...
I should know soon if I can offer them on my website ...

I read on ez pole holders website that the straps are removable?!
Let me rephrase that...arm rest straps are optional? Attachment 231144

Millenium's are great seats, I use them for hunting. Thought about getting one for the boat. Wish they would adopt your idea, they should. Never have seen the bottom, are they equipped to put on a pedestal as is or do you have to add to what you get from them??
Let me state clearly ...
The Millenium seats are fantastic ... The most comfortable seat I have ever fished out of ...
Gene has a great product without modification ...
I modify everything I buy ...because I can ...
If I decide to sell my modification idea ... The packaging (nor my website) will in no way list, show or state that the idea is a modification to Gene's product ...
My idea description will clearly state ... "Aluminum slotted arm for some folding type chairs"
I hope my idea will actually allow Gene more sales of his great product ...

We put the brackets to the torture test on KY Lake today. They held up and functioned perfectly. I was checking for possible pinch points or issues that somebody might have in using them. Tim and I are neither little guys and we found them to be a really nice addition to an already great product. I will be putting them on all 3 of my Milleniums.

Tried my seats out for the first time this past weekend, that is the first thing I noticed and did not care for was the straps. They seemed to get in the way, I would spin around to check on things in the back or reposition and noticed myself pushing down on the straps pulling the back forward. I like your idea!!!!
Also I can't understand why the salt water version is adjustable and the others are not ? I was planning on ordering new strapping and redoing mine to make them adjustable as I prefer a tad more "recline" to mine.
With the brackets, you could drill the hole in the frame to accommodate any recline angle you wanted. There's already a hole drilled in the frame at the bottom. All you would have to do is get the recline angle you want and drill the top hole in each side of the frame.
