I have always used the thread that comes on the small tube you slip over the line, pull the knot tight and clip the ends. Problem is, the know always rubs my guides affecting my cast and sometimes hangs up coming out of the reel.

What do you use?
I have always tied a stopper knot with mono since I generally lost/used the stops that come with the floats.
How deep are you generally fishing?
I use the ones you just put your line through the wire and then pull it. No thread needed.
Generally 6-10 ft when using them...
Do you trim off the tag ends of the stopper once you get it snug on your line?
I use the tiny red ones that you thread your line thru when fishing deeper than 3 ft. The only thing hate about them is they require eagle eyes to thread the line thru those tiny holes. For less than 3ft I use rubber bands.

I use this type 95% of the time. Several brands out there.
Try these with the string stops or the rubber stops. Both work well with this bober......
You will never buy another brand of bober and they will LAST a LONG time...Still have mine from 6 years back. The glass and brass ends do not harm your line one bit! The best bober I have ever found bar none. These bobers actually make my stops last longer as well I have found becasue of the glass and brass ends.

I prefer Bass Pro sinker stops , tougher , more in a package and cheaper than bobber stops .
Thanks for the tip fish getter. Sinker stops 45 for $2.39. Bobber stops 12 for $2.19. No brainer. What are the different colors for with the sinker stops?
I picked up some of both today...looking forward to trying them out!
