We had our 1199 and both 999's updated at the Grizzly jig show last month. This weekend we hit the lake ...I reset the 999's to read off the correct transducers, so all graphs are good on 2d, DI and SI. The problem is with the Lakemaster. We have the lake map, contour lines and way points on the 1199. We have only way points on the two 999's...no lakemap or contour lines.
Any ideas?
Do you have map cards in all 3 units?
Only ONIX can share mapping ... (as Bob is eluding to) ...

The system I use is not nearly as technical as most of the systems available today and it absolutely does not require fix or repair costs. It has served me well since the 50's. This is an example of the way it works: Simultaneously line up the large pin oak with the highest point of the ridge that is directly in front of you, as well as the chimney on the house to the right of you, with the cell tower behind it. It's called the Line-Of-Sight-Tracking system. I highly recommend that you get L-O-S-T. :Rofl

I have used "line-of-sight-tracking" back in the day to find my fishing habitat. There was no GPS back then so you used trees, light poles, whatever to line up and find where you dropped the fish habitat. I also would remember different trees , terrain, and whatever in the woods to keep from getting lost and on a sunny day remember the sun rises in the East and sets in the West so in the morning if the sun was on your right hand side you were headed somewhat North and in the evening if the sun would be on your left hand side you are heading somewhat North. Now I just let Garmin help me get back to my truck when hunting and Humminbird GPS help me find my fish habitat.:twocentsQuote:

The units have base maps preloaded into the HB units (Unimap for small units - Contour XD for larger units) ...Quote:

If your unit had contours showing on the Chart views with no map card in the unit ...it was either an included Contour XD lake ...or your unit is a NVB package (which has a Navionics Value Bundle map package preloaded into the unit) ...
Core unit have never been able to "share" maps across the network ...

Rick, Last year before our units were updated by Humminbird at the Grizzly Jig show, both our 999's were showing the exact same lake map as the 1199. All units are Ethernet connected. As a matter of fact, both the sales man at Bass Pro and the tech at Hank's Boat sales told us that we only needed one chip in the 1199 and the others would read of of it. And up until we were updated that's the way it worked. Now all we have on the 999's are the way points with no lake map. Are you telling me that all units now need their own chip?

If connected by Ethernet they should be to share the same screenshots as the 1199. They cannot share mapping. All the units readings will be the same and all will have the readings from the 1199's transducer. So if it's a transom mount transducer, all the readings will be from that location regardless where the other units are located.
Look up Doug Vahrenberg on you tube. He's a Hummingbird expert and has videos on this topic plus many more.
As Rickie stated ... There has never been map sharing ..... regardless of the software revision on the 1199.....The Tech gave you bad information.....Unfortunately a lot of people selling this stuff don't know much about it.
Did you have the Lakemaster chip in the 1199 last year?
The only Humminbird units that will do map sharing is the Onix .....and maybe the Ion but I'm not up to speed on it.
The lakemaster chip was in last year ...all last year all units showed map of the lake and contours...so this info WAS being shared. I don't know if I'm not communicating in the right terminology or what...but last year ALL units were showing lake map with contours and waypoints. The only thing showing on the 2 999's are the waypoints...no lake map showing on the 2 999's. Something has changed since the update, I'm trying to figure out what.
Maybe when you went to default to download the new update it changed one of your settings. Probably still their just under a different setting.
I'm perplexed about what may have changed with the software update .... maybe some setting in mapping?.......but I have never seen anyone report any map sharing capabilities on the 99 series....just transducer, GPS, and waypoints.
If you have the original software revision you could go back to it and see what changes......I ALWAYS make sure I have a path back. If you don't have it, you should be able to get it from Humminbird if you give them a call.
Bob, I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy 2 more chips...I use the lake map on the bow to get to our waypoints and fish contours and I have the unit on the stern for my wife to see anything she wants, so the heck with it I'll buy 2 more chips and be done.
