To catch one like this one for the wall.
This will be the first summer both my wife and I are retired. So our goal is just to spend a LOT more time in the boat fishing for crappie. If we happen to catch more that will be a nice bonus.
Would love to catch a 2lb crappie. Never caught one that big
My goal is simple. More time on the water. The past two years have been brutal and except for two spring weekends when I've entertained cousins to fish for a couple of days the boat has sat in the garage. I've set a goal to have the boat on the water at least once a week starting mid-March. If I do that I know I'll find fish and fry fish. Time on the water = more fish caught simply by being in tune with everchanging conditions.
To catch more of these IL 2 1/2 pound slabs.

3lb slab from Lake Washington next month. Or several 2.5lbers.
To leave bass fishing behind and continue to catch this crappie fever I got last year.
Would like to be more consistant at finding and catching slabs.
I think we're gonna spend more time looking for river crappie as well.
Week of the 21st. Save some for me.
Just to have fun.
4.1 break my state record. Thats a pole popper
To just relax in the boat and get away from the every day grind of stress, also to catch enough crappie so i can have fish fry once a month after a few martinis and thank the man above for a beautiful family.:cheers2
All good plans gents keep them coming
Pesce....
I couldn't have said it better..
fish a new lake.
many goals, some of which include studying and learning, being more patient, adapting to changes, and being more consistent...all of which apply to crappie fishing too.
To try and hit the spring and fall bite in steed of being a week late like usual.
Id say learn to find crappie in my portion of the river this year.
Just going for me, as much as possible.
where's Lake Washington?
Just cross that bridge and float that boat on Cedar,Egypt,Kincaid,Crab,Rend,Horseshoe.....just as many times as the Lord will allow..Thank you Lord...you made it right.
catch more fish on a more consistent basis. Get out as much as possible.
Me 2! [emoji106][emoji12]
My wife found a piece of driftwood from the ocean on our honeymoon that looks like a perfect log to mount a crappie on. I've never really wanted to mount a fish but hey whatever it takes to keep her happy.... Now I have an excuse for the 4 days at Washington, 5 on Grenada and 3 at Reelfoot this spring!
Since I'm only a mile from the Mississippi, I'd like to find out where the big Crappie hang out on the river. (Any of you guys catch Crappie on the Mississippi?)
Years ago, and I'm talking over 40 years, my dad and I took his Jon boat up in a long side slough on the Missouri River in the spring. We a caught a big mess of Slabbers that day. The water was almost "green" vs the chocolate-colored main river channel. They evidently went up in there to spawn. Every one was a dandy, probably 12 inches or more.
Also, and I hope this isn't sacrilegious :dono but I'd like to learn how to catch those big Hybrid Stripers in Otter Lake. (When I'm not fishing for Crappie, of course.)
I just want to be more consistent catching fish this year. Now that I've figured out how to use side scan and put marker buoys on the brush I find, I think that might just happen :kewl
Man that's why I love this site all genuine people with realistic goals. I like how one of us ask a simple question and we get these great responses Live you all Fish on and God bless. May we land the crappie of our dreams
