I had a good experience at Pit Stop Marine in Angier, NC.
There is a little marina on Kerr Scott lake in Wilkesboro that does good work. Don't know how far that if from you. It is called Skyline Marina.

I have found Chatlee in Sanford to be top-notch mechanics, but they stay so busy it can take a while. Pitt Stop in Angier is my go to. They know motors and they are fair and honest.
Glad to hear you got it going. Just wanted to put in a recommendation for the guys down at Pro Outboard in Lake Wylie. They really know their stuff and stand behind their work. Anytime I take something to them it comes home fixed the first time.
