Does anybody have any experience or thoughts on the Humminbird 360 Imaging fish finder?
Have some experience and a few thoughts. What are you wanting to know? What lakes do you fish and what is your typical fishing method? On second thought, all that really does not matter. Go ahead an get you one...:ThumbsUp:ThumbsUp
hahaha, I usually fish creeks on the TN or out on Guntersville. I fish various ways, but enjoy finding under water structure and fishing it with a jig and more open water style of fish compared to just fishing tree tops all the time. Just depends on the time of year and I enjoy trolling in the right conditions.
Basically, is the HB 360 worth the money? Sure looks like it makes finding structure all around you much easier and you don't have to spend as much time searching and you can locate stuff around the entire boat at once and see any changes like bait fish moving.
My 360 really shines when the fish are schooling around not holding in the same spot on structure.
If mine disappeared off my boat, I would have a new one before the weekend! Today is Thursday!
Attachment 228807 Here's what a 360 can do for you
I don't mean to hijack this thread but Lee explain what this is showing I am thinking about getting me one.
The black is the water column below boat and the amber is the bottom. The dots are fish. They are easier to distinguish against the black background. They were loaded in there yesterday.
So what exactly is the water column and why do you not see the bottom beneath the boat?
The 360 has a dead spot straight under it as it shoots out a beam. The beam angle toward the bottom until it hits it. The deeper the water the bigger the black area. I was roughly in 30 fow yesterday.
Does it matter what type of fish finder you have as long as it its comptiable with the 360? I'd imagine you'd want the cheapest fish finder with the biggest screen right???
What kind of fish finder do u have the 360 hooked up to? Do u have the 360 that mounts to the trolling motor? If so, do you have the fish finder transducer mounted to your trolling motor?
Thanks for all the help
I have mine connected to an 899 and have the 360 mounted off my trolling motor. I do not even use the standard transducer.
I wish I could afford to buy and operate all this stuff. Most is way out of budget for a school teacher. Wonder if ole Bernie will give us all a new fully rigged state of the art boat?
I do have mine connected to the US2 sonar on the minn kota but I pretty much never use anything other than the 360 at the trolling motor. The 360 takes the place of all of that for me. I am about to move the 899 to the console (replace a 997) and buy a Helix unit for the front (my plan anyway)...
I didn't think the helix was compatible with the 360? If so I might, look into it.....I got a really good deal on the hummingbird 859
The helix 9, 10, and 12 are 360 compatible I believe.
Can't Hide MONEY.
I run a 1198 screen with my 360. I still start my scan with si to find the fish and then use the 360 to stay in the strike zone.
