Ad Hoc Crappie.com Event at Griffin State Park

It's been requested by a couple members to do an event on Lake Griffin again this year and I went ahead and called the park to get the pavilion. It was not available on Saturday (kinda late notice on my part), so the event will be held on Sunday 2-28-2016.

This is not going to be any sort of major event with fish fry. Wifey offered to bring Sub Sammich fixin's. That's it. I will take care of entry fees, so please let me know if you are attending, or thinking about attending, and I'll let you know the secret handshake to get into the park free! lol

Anyone have additional ideas to add to the party, please post here. And just plain post here to provide some feedback. I will also have stuff to give away from our sponsors. I'll figure out how I do that. The picture contest we had at Crescent worked out pretty good, might be something like that. We'll see.

Minimally my mom, my wife and I will be there. Don't let my mom win all the prizes.

Going to plan on it. Me & maybe 2 others. Willing to bring something ie: drinks, chips, ice, whatever we need. let me know.

Me and the son will be there and can bring some fixxins to go along also,

I sure want to attend but it's a bit out there for me right now. Mom and I both have something nagging at us that says not to commit yet but me and the other woman will attend if any way is possible. She is my social director, you know.

Y'all better show up. My mommy paid for the pavilion and if you don't show she's gonna get after you. Seriously, we went to the park and she insisted on paying. Then we had to go see what we were renting! doh

Hmm, I think I have an idea. We're getting a house for my mom real soon I hope (she's pretty picky so soon might not be the way it goes but anyway). So here's the deal, all you have to do is bring a small house warming gift of any kind for her, and I'll give you a Crappie.com 2016 Griffin Lake Event T-shirt. Sound like a deal. PM me your shirt size if you're in. I'm not gonna let her know till she's there. I think this will be fun.

Slab, I am sorry to say, I will not be at Griffin get together. We have had some things happen that was not expected. We lost a very good friend that lives in Tampa yesterday.
Another friend's home burned to the ground back home. I will be heading back early, in order to help out. I hope someone can fill in with the drinks and ice. Hope ya'll have a great day on the water.

I can get ice from work and will bring a couple gallons of sweet tea.

They said something about letting us in early like we did last time but I'm not sure of details. They said to call for details next week. I'll post here when I find out more.

OK, THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU'RE GOING TO THE EVENT. The guberment is not letting us in early like they did last time.

The folks that Griffin Lake State Park are not letting us in early. So, unlike last time, if you are launching at the state park you won't be able to get through the gate until 8am. Your other option is to go to Herlong Park (by the train), and launch there and then go to the event at the state park afterwards. Tell'em you're with Crappie.com.

I will be at the state park at 2PM with MOM and Sammich material. And the prize for BIG FISH. Show up any time thereafter (and before all the food is gone). lol

I got a site in there starting Wednesday through Monday

We will come fish but will not be able to hang around for the event. Might be able to pop in and sah hello but doubtful. We have to pick up father in law and will be quickly running out of time. We will launch at Herlong.

I'll be at the gate at 7:30..... They usually open a little early

Looks like I may be able to at least come for weigh in/hangout & bring a house gift for slabmomma.
