Same here, hope all went well and a speedy recovery .............
Same from me hope all is well Herold
Me too Harold. Have thought of you a couple times while working yesterday. My prayers are with ya.
Let us hear from you when you feel like it.
Just spoke with Harold and all went well. They have had him up and moving around and he says he feels much better. Possibly going home later today but not definite yet.
Glad to hear it
That's good news.
What he said!
Thanks for posting this Mike! :ThumbsUp
Hope for the best for Harold from me ........................
Thanks guys for all the support and well wishes - means lot when you laying
flat on back looking at ceiling.
Attached is what i posted on our Florida Crappie Club forum - some readers are
unaware of where its at.
Again thanks for support - don't wish to go through another one like this.
Here is what i posted
Well - very very interesting - according to my doctor - i should not even be here - It was the worstsituation of blockage he had ever seen in 21 yrs plus. I was on operating table 8 1/2 hrs (from 5am
Tuesday morning arrival time - in operating room 7:15 - released back to recovery at 4:36pm..
They worked on both legs - i had total blockages in both - legs were getting their oxygen and nourishment
out of veins and capalaries via return to heart. They started at first blockage just below breast bone.
Using wire & air expansion - they cleaned plaque for almost 1 1/2 hrs. where they could no farther they
bypassed with plastic tubing of sorts. This process they used down both legs - around groin area.
when they just could not get right leg properly opened up, they went with a bypass piece about 8 inches
long- wrapping it in a wire mesh like they use on a rupture for protection.
There is whole lot more but won't bore you with it.
Day 1 Tuesday - after returning to bed - they pretty well kept me doped up - did have a cathedra in, which
they took out Wednesday afternoon (that's a story in half - yikes) about 2 am Wednesday morning they
stood me up to check me out - (talk about pain- burning sensation- etc) thought i was going to die,
and they had just shot the morphine to me about 10 minutes prior to standing.
Wednesday went pretty well - slept a lot - sweated all the time - body working overtime to help with
recovery- Never knew a clock could move so slow at night - every 2 hr wake up for vital check - wanted
to see if i was dead or not............T
Thursday much better - started to eat the Hospital food - ( didn't say it was great) had to have it for
strength - Was told Thursday night - if could walk two (2) times around my floor - could go home Friday
after Doctor's personal clearence ( kinda thought that different) This doctor has got to be one of the
best.
Today - have slept quite a bit - up to bathroom - back to bed - on 2nd cup coffee - hurt quite a lot in
groin area- taking pain pills as needed. Hell these people didn't know what pain was like past couple
years..............This is walk in park
Can't drive for 2 weeks min. Does not want me to even think about doing anything strenous - got to
let the mesh around groin area start to take on scar tissue...........If i break one of these open - i'm dean
within 4 minutes ( Doctor spent some time with Carole showing her how to apply pressure to wound it
one opens up)
Later - thanks for the calls - good wishes - and all - going to be down for a while.........
Would "LIKE" your post 813, only for the fact you made it through, but the rest sounds very painful....after recovery you should be a new man :pray look forward to your 1st post OTW when the healing is complete...
Already feel so much better in leg area - first time in 4 plus years that legs are not
burning - constant tingling feeling -seem to have more energy (but that could be
in mind only) reality- body will tell you when its time to lay down and rest..
Was thinking about ya Harold. Good to see you hanging in there and the fire still burns. Rest well, and speedy recovery.
That is the post I've been waiting to see. I've been in to have some things fixed but nothing like you've been through. I have a good feeling that you'll recover well and faster than they think you will. Say hello when you feel up to it and enjoy the rest, you've earned it. Til then.........Skeet
Thanks Stu, Skeet & Spec dedector
can't believe how those small thoughts make a person feel good.
Question ? What does OTW stand for (on the water ?) gettin old, mind not
up to this text stuff - don't even have it on my cell - it was early flip model with
"curtains"
This last one was heck of a ride.........
The by-pass think was quick and to point - discussed in recovery on Wednesday,
Spoke with Heart Surgeon immidately - took first opening avail *Following Friday
2 days from saying they couldn't open arteries around heart during angeo-plasti
To being on table having it done.
This situration - had time to think about it (Mid july to Mid January) also they put
it to me - did i just want to work on 1 leg at a time ................
That was easy answer - once you get me on operating table - better do both legs
as i am not commin back.
