how fast a game plan can change.
got on the water around 1pm. weather was beautiful. had spider rigging on my mind. i use 8 14'ers with double minnow rigs this time of year and out of habit i always bait up and put the rods in the holders from lt to rt. (yea im ocd) just as i got #8 baited and was placing it in the holder a 7lb largemouth bit on the far left pole and swam to the right. well after he made about 8 passes in, out and around my spread you can imagine the carnage that was my line. I'm thankful i was the only one on the little state lake that day because i probably looked like an idiot landing one fish with eight 14' poles. i got the fish in the boat and of course he's a slot fish and had to go back. so im looking and this birds nest of line an ostrich could lay in thinking do i really want to fool with that right now and remembered my trusty 10' jig pole i always keep in the rod box. it was rigged with an old black and chartreuse slater jig with half the hair missing. (i only had brought my trolling box and didn't have my jigs). i jigged around deep brush for 3 hrs and ended up with 14 1 1/2lbs fat black crappie before i let my jig get a little too far in the brush and broke it off. funny how fast a game plan can change. and how fast someone can loose and regain their Christianity in a 3 hr period.
