My wife retired this year and now we can go places. We rented a cabin for the month of March and part of April at Oakland this year. Finally get to come fish and can work around the weather a little. Been coming down for 4 years now and we are going to get to spend some extended time in an area we really love. See Ya in March :biggrin

Happy for you. I retired first too and things really got better when my wife retired.
How did you do it? I have been trying to convince my wife that I should get to retire first, but she aint biting.... I have 29 years in PERS (MS Public Employee Retirement System) and she has 25 years in PERS. If I could get her to work to 35, I might could by that new boat I have been wanting, AND, since I would retire first, I would have the time to use it!!!

I was able to retire 10yrs before my wife. The only problem we have now is she thinks I need to do things. I have tried to tell her I got along just fine the way I was doing stuff. The good part is now we get to go together. We are going to the Grizzly show this weekend. I have to get her into slow down mode but that will come. Just nice to finally get to go places and do the stuff we like.

My plan is not coming together. The campground in Caruthersville is still closed and the one at the fairgrounds in nearby Kennet is covered with farm equipment. Right now I don't have a plan C.Quote:

Have stayed before but have seen so many germ specials on tv that I avoid them like the devil. Since I posted earlier my wife has suggested we drive to Collierville Thursday night and stay with our daughter. We would come up Friday and make a day of it. try wading a ditch or two the first of March you can wear em out if the weather is right
I plan on bringing my waders. I have seen Russ Bailey do that and it looked like a lot of fun.
