What is spring camp
Yes let's set dates and vote on lake. I m for lake Martin in mld March. Spawn should be red hot and wind creek is plenty big to have it. Cabins rv hookups and marina.
Spring camp will be where we spend a week fishing. Fellowship ping eating fish and just having a good time.Quote:

Bob only problem with Logan and Henry is there's no where to camp. Not sure about weiss?

I would be interested. I like to vote on Guntersville or Weiss Both places have great campgrounds and Hotel.
I cast my vote with James for the big G. lots of campgrounds from Scottsboro down to the state park.
Big G would be good. Probably needs to be toward end of March. As far as Weiss, I live on it but don't know where any great camp grounds are. Nothing like guntersville.
Depends on the weather if its warm in February the fish will spawn mid March I have seen them spawned out last week of march
I vote for Big G-Vegas.
Just a thought for you guys, I think Sippi's camp is the first weekend of April. If you have yours the weekend before, Slab can go from one to the other and make it easier on him if he is going to them. You might want to check their date.
Happened 2 years ago but we wore them out during the post spawn. Hard to predict. 3 years ago we wore them out the first week of May on post spawn... Last year was just sporadic... (Gville that is).Quote:

I vote for G'ville. Fall Camp was nice at Jackson Co Park. Weiss would be fun, but where to camp &/or stay? Not too far a drive from Grant Mountain, but I think the Big G is getting better for crappie than it has been in 4 -5 years. And, it's plenty big enough to accommodate.
Any comment / suggestions?
We can always do one on my private 800 acre that has been under fished for the 6 years since I privatized it. It's kinda like Lake Washington @ Glen Allen, MS.

Aight guys we are having a tournament and a mini camp at wind creek state park from March 17-19 on lake Martin. You guys don't think I'm taking over or stilling your thunder. It just makes since to incorporate these together. I'll still try to help any efforts on a north Alabama lake at a different date also this spring.
Has everyone decided to go to the Lake Martin event or is there gonna be a separate Spring Camp up North AL somewhere? Logan, G'ville, Pickwick, Smith, Wheeler, etc.. Also don't know how many have been before but the Aliceville and Pickensville area is really good to.
When will an official date and location be decided?
I'm game for a G'ville camp or at RebRangers private lake!!!

I can do the foot work on checking out to see what's available at the camp grounds and hotels .if yaw want me too. we had fall camp at goose pond campground last fall which went very well. last weekend of March sounds good to me as well. Just let me know .

Everybody has a different idea, someone needs to take the bull by the horn, set a date and location and go for it. If not the prime time is going to pass on by.
