Where can I find micro glitter ? Thanks
These are what I Glitters
These are very fine and mix into powder paint like a dream. They'll also mix into transparent liquid paints too or you can dip a wet head in the glitter then use a cover coat when the binder holding the glitter on dries.
I have several colors of powder that I use these glitters in and I also use a lot of the fire opal color in plastic for a belly color that isn't a pearl but somewhat clouded like a pearl.
These glitters are very heat tolerant. Very easy to use.
Thank you ! I'll give those a try !

My favorite is the fine and Ultra Fine from Nicole Crafts that I get at AC Moore which is like Michaels and Hobby lobby.

I've used all kinds of brands and haven't found a bad one yet. Another way you could go is get Jacquards PearlEx systems mica powder and a couple of pounds of clear and mix it up,

I've had mixed results with after market, craft store glitters. As I understand it the polyester glitters have a fairly high heat tolerance, high enough that they'll work in plastic where I am more prone to them. I read the labels now to see what the glitter composition is. I'd like to expand my color making ability with the powder paint as far as glitters are concerned and have been chatting a bit with Fatman. I don't think he'd mention a product that had issues in powder paint since he'd just about as good as it gets in the head painting department.
A lot of my frustration in finding glitters that work in places like Michaels and Hobby Lobby is that in one area of the country they may shelve products shown here by Fatman, but in this region such labels are not found and the stores don't like to move products between themselves.
I've used creatix, walmart, tulip, hobby lobby, michaels (on the sample packs from hobby lobby and michaels if I see shades of glitter I like I'll buy at least 3 sample packs of each one), nichol crafts and I've never had any problem when baking the heads in the oven. The PearlEx mica powder mix's fine in clear powder paint and I've posted pics of those before, I haven't mixed all of them yet.

Agree with ctom on availability of products from one section of the country to another. Two glitters I haven't tried yet are the fine/extra fine from JoAnnes' and the other is the WOW! brand glitter.
I have several polyester glitters from JoAnns and haven't had any issues with any of it.
I found some extra fine glitter at Walmart... I want to
mix silver with clear but I want a lot glitter in the powder paint... What kind of ratio should I use?
I use the cs systems polyester glitter which is very fine, I get it from tj's tackle on the powder paint page on the far right.

I start out with 2 tablespoons of clear - I have clear from ProTec, Rosys, Orbit and Columbia Coatings it all works well. Then I put in 2 teaspoons of glitter and shake it up really well. Heat a head and do a test dip and see if it comes out the way you want. If you want more glitter add by 1/8th of a teaspoon, if you get more glitter than the clear will disperse you'll get a lumpy head just add more clear.
It's a lot of test mixing till you get what you want but learn this valuable lesson WRITE EVERYTHING YOU DO DOWN!!!!! take it from dumb bell here. I have this really nice mix I made up and I never wrote it down and can't remember how to make it. Everything gets written on the paint cup cap when I get it where I want it.
Well I finally found who distributes the NicolesCraft glitter - Sbar's Inc. apparently bought them and is the distributor for for it and I gotta tell you they have some colors in it that I REALLY WANT!!! I have an email into them asking who besides AC Moore (local store I get mine at now) carries it.
Sbar's website

I'll let you know when I receive an answer.
They have some super hot colors in there. From what I can gather from the site a person has to have a business account with them to order and to get pricing.
Yeah pretty much!! When they were first re-designing the site you were supposed to be able to find everything and you can't
Candy Paints | Pearl Paint | Thermochromic Paint | Metal Flake.
This is where I get my micro glitter. It is a true 0.004 size and used in automotive paint mostly but is very good in powder paint.
I have a couple of the pearls from PWP. It does double duty, being used in both plastic and powder paint.
Well they got back to me - each person would have to send a request through their site. Basically:
"A friend showed me this glitter and we don't have the store he gets it from. Could you give me a list of stores that carry it near (your town, state, zip)
They'll shoot you an email back, some of the ones listed on the one he sent me didn't carry it in the store but they would order it for you.
