There are a couple of Local jig makers that have several cards in various
bait shops off 78 ( Gotcha Bait & Tackle - Fast Break - Okeecobee Bait & Tackle
Garrards Bait & Tackle (hwy 441) Ask around when in the area.
Last time out the best was wihte glow tube on chart RR head. white buck tail, and blk and chart also did well. fish where scaterd out thru the water collom. water temp was 78 then, after this cold front Im shure things have changed. gerrard`s has good stock of jig`s, if your fishing the north side.
We tie hand ties so trying to get some good colors together.
What part of Big O are you going to be staying ?
Maybe will want to look at some of Florida style jigs vs Northern Style you tie.
Fishing is somewhat different down here - what works in Midwest does not
necissarly work here.
Bring you tying equipment with you.
He going too fish the north west upper half of the lake around Indian prairie I think he said.
Yep,Yep thought I should ask.
If your planning on single pole jiggin - which is most fun - "feeling that thump"
is biggest rush i ever had.
Tin House Cove - Indian Prairie - South end Kings Bar are all good area's
Work the tall reeds - canes - edges in the tussicks
Should be fun this time of year - Males are pretty much in now
Again i use 32nd -local handmade (resembles a "Slater Jig" ) Yellow - Blue - Orange
Pink. Hope this will help - this is what they look like - just change colors accordingly
Same lay out.

This is what we use around here
You gotta a chance........the blue - yellow -need some orange ones -
also look at making up some whites with tiny, tiny bit more flash.
what size hook are you using ? 6's work good.
Jig slow......just liet quiver of suspended hand move jig.........
So the feather will work?
#2 hook so just beef up the flash
#2 we use mostly middle to north end of state
#6 more to the south - if you are going to jig -not minnow tip
Would go more with the flash - back away from feather -
If you plan on trying the Kissimmee river at mouth and North to Locks -
Go to Spider rigging - bigger hooks -minnow tipping etc. You are not restricted
to number of rods in Florida vs Illinois - Indiana - Ohio
Okeechobee does have a 10 inch size limit on it, your allowed 25 fish
per person per day.
Keep in touch as to how things go - via pm
We have tournament down there on February 27th out of Okeetaniee area.
Got you I will just use flash for tail.
go up on hook size to #6 from the #2 doesn't matter if sickle or bronze hook,
your not minnow tipping
got you!
