If two Helix 9 units are networked together one is a DI without SI capability the other is a Helix 9 with SI capability.
Can the Helix 9 without SI, display a SI image from the Helix 9 with SI ?

I was also wondering the same thing
Most things I've read say this question is still untested with certainty ...
I have read reports that the DI unit can display the SI image (but with limited menu adjustments) ...
As soon as I can find info ... I will add to this thread ..
Maybe someone here has both and can verify for us ...

Thanks Ricki, That information will determine which unit I would buy if I decide to add a second one to my boat.
Fishfood has done some testing and verified that the non SI Helix DI unit can see the SI from an SI unit ..... There is a problem trying to do it the other way around, however.........The SI unit cannot share the dedicated DI transducer for the DI unit.
That is some good information to have... thanks for the share of the information!
Simply put, yes. You can view the SI on the DI unit. You're basically viewing and controlling the SI from the DI unit. The SI imaging will be pulled from the SI transducer. You may also read the DI unit from your SI unit. Just don't forget to pull your trolling motor up before you take off!
Thanks Bob;
That is the kind of additional information that I and anyone else reading this thread need to know. If I purchased a second unit I could save about $235.00 by getting a Helix 9 without SI. But, I don't want to find out after the fact that I should have bought the more expensive SI unit. I realize part of that higher price is because of the transducer differences.
To be able to view SI on the Di unit is this achieved with a Ethernet cable connecting the 2 and if so what do you do in your settings to accomplish this?
? #2- can you view Si off of a helix 9 si unit onto a 859 DI unit?
So, there is an option in the network menu to select which transducer you are pulling DI from so I know you are SUPPOSED to be able to view the dedicated DI unit from the SI unit. That said, now that I'm thinking of it, I've never tried to for two reasons: 1. I don't sit at the console (SI unit) with my trolling motor in the water (I have a cable steer so I can't remote control it) and 2. When I want to see down imaging from my SI unit, I just view the down imaging the SI unit is capable of.
There may be a bug that keeps you from viewing the DI from the SI unit, but you are SUPPOSED to be able to.
Yes, you must ethernet the two units together, in this case you need an ethernet cable of appropriate length, and two dongle adapters (the ethernet cable won't plug straight into Helix or 859s).
You should be able to network a Helix 9 and an 859, should be fine, but I haven't done this and can't verify that there are no issues. I only know Humminbird says your SHOULD be able to.
Here's a good video of how to set up the sharing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh35Dq1Ba4Y
#2 Yes
Went out yesterday and I can view my SI from my helix on my 859 di, does any one know if you can do it in split screen with the di I couldn't find a way to accomplish this
Did the DI work on a full screen view like it usually does?
