Monroe not Monrod???I hate this tiny keyboardĄ!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep going to give old "Monrod" another shot Saturday rivers flowing backwards anyway = poor river fishing.
Monroe park 0 dark 30 come on guys lets go.
Got some goodies fer ya Andy!
:Rofl:Rofl Munrod........Sorry HS...I thinks that might stick for a while....just sayin
LOL Kinda sounds like a PO'ed Monroe......................... Lord knows we have all seen that at least once or twice. THATS a keeper Mike!
Yea yea yea i had that coming.
Boos man day for me. Maybe Sunday and maybe in the canoe.
Monrod sounds like a Jamaican fishing pole. "I go catch the specks with my monrod, mon.":biggrin
Well met up with Crappieday as planned at the gates and had everything ready to launch both boats when they opened. Got em in the water and Andy headed out. Shortly after Billadelphia shoeed. Gave him a quick rundown and we headed out with high hopes. Pretty slow morning with heavy fog even when loading up at 10:30. Pulled the Opp to thd north shore manatee markers and out towards pyramid. Ended catching 14 and had 7 in the well. Gave em to a veteran that was shorebound at the ramp. Pretty slow morning and never really found an area with a school. All picked up sporadically. If anyone is gonna try tomorrow I would look around Stone Island and Smokehouse. Might be out there tomorrow myself pending weather. It was a pleasure meeting ya Billadelphia, hope yall had a good time. Have confidence in what I showed ya and tweak it to your likings and dont be afraid to experiment.
Hey you got a problem with Jamaicans?:Rofl:biggrin:cheers2:highfive:Rofl
I may go Tuesday so I'll use my tuerod:Rofl
What a difference a week makes, last week water temp was 78 today 65. Last week couldn't keep the fish off my lines this week................let's just say it was a little slow................lots of boats this week didn't see anyone catching many but it was a nice day on the water.
Oh heck yeah thank and you again for the advice as me and my partner had a blast we caught 22 total kept 12- biggest was 13 1/2 and had a few 12 1/2 and couple 12 inchers so we had an absolute blast as 13 1/2 was my biggest crappie to date (1LB 3 OZ.) ,thanks again we appreciate it -also noticed a few things as all the big ones but 1 was caught on same exact color and from the back of the boat so i got some figuring out about the depth of my jigs -we ended up leaving just before 4 trolling motor completely dead-WHAT A BLAST cant wait to get back out there ASAP-also caught a tarpon about 3 lb on a lil jig- crazy
Great! Sure it wasnt a shad. They are migrating through to spawn down at the Econ. But I have seen juvy tarpon in Blue Springs so it aint out the question. Specially with the river runnin south for a few days. You will learn somethin every trip, keep adjustin and tweakin things and you will be on fire. At least now you have some confidence to build on. It works for sure. And some days one or 2 rods will catch the majority even with everything the same.
What do you mean river running south for a few days??
I caught two good size lady fish on two different trips last year and saw a dead flounder at the ramp...but I ain't never seen no tarpon....maybe I'll hook one Tuesday
I've seen 2 Snook at the mouth of blue springs, that was a first. I had a hard time staying focused with the fog and no wind today. I knew you guys would be emptying Monrod and leave nothing for me in the morning. Going to Christen the canoe.
Sounds like a duplicate day I had. Me and my granddaughter put in at Monroe Harbor and fished the south side from the harbor to the bridge, started out like it was going to be a good day catching 4 good one's right off the bat then it slowed catching about 5 or 6 dinks then a couple more keepers then a few more dinks then just stopped. Same never found a school, scattered. Thinks huntinslabs for the report, wondering how everybody else's day went, if you go tomorrow good luck, thinking about going to the Lake Eustis if the weather permits too. But still enjoyed the day spending with the granddaughter fishing.
Floridaboy ya need to hook up with us one weekend. Gonna try and hit em again mid day tomorrow for a bit.
Yes sir I need to catch up with you guys , thanks may not make it to Monroe until next Sunday. but good luck today, save me some.
Sounds like a plan came together, boat on water, fish in boat, & well FOG instead of wind....know that made Andy happy...seams like it's getting a little more like fishing, than crazy #ers catching on most lakes these days lately....
Yep! That time of year. Fish get courtin on their mind then ma nature throws em a curve and then start all over again. Next 2 months will be crazy fishin fer sure.
Headin back out tommorow as im HOOKED!!!!
Anyone know where i can catch a 2lb+ fish??
Anyone wanna fish tomorrow?? I have 2 seats and 1 will be empty
Monroe has em just keep fishin and you'll get one, just remember the 1lb. 12oz. fish you are catching now will be 2lbs. + when they are full of eggs. A few years back I was catching a few two pound fish each trip, been a little harder to find lately. Most of the time I'll just photo and release the big girls to let them finish spawning and keep a few after they are finished lots of good eaten sized males to keep me in fish when I want em.
But if i dont quit crappie fishing every day i may be LOOKING FOR A BRUSH PILE TO LIVE IN!!!!
NO way would i ever consider keeping or eating a big female fish as thats just fishing etiquette!!
